A UNITED FRONT FOR CHILD SAFETY: NATIONAL HAZARD AWARENESS CAMPAIGN A RESOUNDING SUCCESS! š§Æš¦
The gospel of safety has officially been taken to the future leaders of our nation! The Eswatini National Fire Rescue and Emergency Service recently joined forces with a powerful coalition of stakeholders to roll out the National Hazard Awareness Training Campaign. This massive collaborative effort brought together the Ministry of Health, the National Disaster Management Agency (NDRMA), the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS), the Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society, the Eswatini Drowning Prevention Alliance (EDPA), and World Vision Eswatini, alongside vital sister government entities. Driven by the belief that keeping children safe requires immediate, proactive awareness, these multi-stakeholder teams hit the ground running to deliver crucial, life-saving skills directly to local classrooms.
The high-impact safety train made its first major stops in the Shiselweni region, successfully empowering schools across two constituencies. In Gege Inkhundla, teams equipped four primary schools, including Gege Methodist Primary and Eric Rosenburg Primary, with vital knowledge on hazard identification, disaster risk reduction, and emergency response protocols. The momentum then carried straight into Sigwe Inkhundla, where two more schools, including Mpakeni Primary and Lulakeni Primary, received intensive training on drowning prevention, chemical safety, crime awareness, and personal security.
ENFRES extend its massive appreciation to the incredible school administrations, dedicated teachers, community leaders, and invaluable stakeholders for making this campaign a success. By recognizing risks early, the fire service, together with the other stakeholders, are working together to protect every single child in Eswatini.
