Today, we marked an important milestone with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between EWADE and CFl in support of the FINCLUDE Project.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration, accelerating implementation, and ensuring the successful completion of a profect that has already impacted over 13,500 smallholder farners and micro-entrepreneurs across Eswatini.
Through this MoU, EWADE will provide targeted technical and project management support; reinforcing delivery, coordination, and execution-while working within CFIs leadership framework to sustain momentum and maximize impact.
With the implementation and closeout phases of FINCLUDE now underway, this collaboration comes at a critical time.
Together, we are focused not only on completing activities, but on safeguarding the gains already achieved and ensuring lasting benefits for rural communities.
This moment underscores the power of partnership, where institutions align their strengths to drive inclusive growth, enhance resilience, and deliver meaningful change for the people of Eswatini.

We recently hosted the IFAD Supervision Mission for a tour of the SAPEMP project across Eswatini.
The visit provided an opportunity to engage directly with farmers, enterprises and partners, and to take stock of progress on the ground. From Hawane to Ndushulweni, the mission saw first-hand how SAPEMP interventions are supporting productivity, market access, and livelihoods.
The engagements also created space to reflect on what is working well and where we can strengthen delivery going forward.

Growth is not always instant, it is built season by season, decision by decision.

In Sigangeni, Thulani’s journey with the Hamba Ubuye Project reflects what sustained support and determination can achieve. Starting in the 2021/22 season with an inputs loan of E20,700, each passing season has brought new lessons, expansion, and increased investment now exceeding E179,000.

His story is part of a bigger picture, one where farmers are not only supported to start, but to grow, scale, and strengthen their operations over time.

Through Hamba Ubuye, progress is not just measured in numbers, but in resilience, consistency, and the confidence of farmers to keep moving forward.

From one season to the next, the land continues to answer hard work with promise.
In Sigangeni, 13 determined farmers are transforming 85.5 hectares into a source of opportunity, growth, and shared prosperity. Backed by over E840,000 in production inputs, this cluster is on course to deliver an estimated 342 metric tons of maize this season.
Beyond the numbers lies the bigger story, families supported, livelihoods strengthened, and communities building greater resilience through agriculture.
With an expected revenue of more than E2.1 million, Sigangeni stands as another reminder that when farmers are empowered, development moves forward.
Rooted in effort. Driven by partnership. Growing for the future.

Mpakeni Dam Progress update.

Progress you can see. Impact you can feel.
At 47% complete, the Mpakeni Dam is steadily taking shape, bringing us closer to a future where farmers have reliable water, fields stay productive, and communities are better equipped to face changing seasons.

Every step forward on site represents more than construction. It’s about creating opportunities, supporting livelihoods, and strengthening the backbone of our agricultural sector.

With completion set for 2028, this dam will play a vital role in improving water access and unlocking long-term growth for the communities we serve.

This is development that matters; practical, visible, and built for people.
