The Ministry of Health, through the National TB Control Programme (NTCP), continues to strengthen passive TB case finding through facility-based lay cadres deployed across health facilities nationwide. These include TB Expert Clients, TB Screening Officers, and TB Adherence Officers.

A 3-day residential training workshop was conducted to enhance TB case finding, improve data quality, and ensure alignment with the National TB Strategic Plan (NSP) 2024–2028.

The training focused on:
• Strengthening TB screening, identification, referral, and contact tracing
• Enhancing knowledge of updated TB guidelines, treatment, and TB Preventive Therapy (TPT)
• Building competency in CMIS for accurate and timely data entry
• Improving data validation, reporting, and use for decision-making
• Strengthening patient tracking and linkage systems to reduce loss to follow-up
• Advancing knowledge on TB diagnostics, including CAD/AI technologies
• Reinforcing basic and latent TB knowledge
• Promoting integrated collaboration across TB, NCDs, mental health, cancer, and HIV services

Empowering frontline cadres is key to improving early detection, strengthening care systems, and ultimately ending TB.
