secondary school students across The Turks and Caicos archipelago are invited to participate in the "I am Agriculture: Youth in Agriculture" High School Video Competition being organized by the CARICOM Secretariat.

The competition invites young people to communicate the importance of agriculture through creative 1-minute videos highlighting food security, innovation, sustainability and regional development.

The DECR, in partnership with Expertise France, Green Overseas, the European Union, and Insight Decision, is inviting residents across the Turks and Caicos Islands to participate in a nationwide Public Climate Survey as part of the development of the country’s climate change planning and resilience initiatives.

Climate change is already affecting communities throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands through stronger storms, coastal erosion, flooding, rising temperatures, water scarcity, and changing weather patterns. Understanding how these changes impact people’s daily lives is essential to developing practical, community-driven solutions that strengthen the country’s resilience.

The survey provides an opportunity for every resident to share their experiences, concerns, and ideas on climate change and identify the issues that matter most to them.

“Climate change is no longer a future challenge; it is a present reality affecting our communities, our environment, and our economy. As we strengthen the resilience of the Turks and Caicos Islands, it is important that the voices of our people help shape the policies and actions we take. I encourage all residents to take a few minutes to complete the survey and contribute to building a stronger, more resilient future for our country,” said Minister of Environment, Fisheries and Marine Affairs, Agriculture and Gaming, Honourable Jolly.

The survey:

Takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.

Is completely anonymous.

Is open to all residents of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Will help inform future climate adaptation, resilience, and environmental planning.

The Department encourages residents from all islands and communities to participate, regardless of age, occupation, or background. Whether climate change has affected your home, livelihood, business, health, or community, or if you simply want to contribute ideas for a more resilient future, your input is valuable.

The survey forms part of ongoing efforts under the Green Overseas programme, funded by the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), to strengthen climate resilience in Overseas Countries and Territories, including the Turks and Caicos Islands.
