A Day at the North Caicos Port Authority

On Friday, July 24, 2026, intern Kayanna Stubbs spent the day shadowing the dedicated team at the North Caicos Port Authority, gaining firsthand insight into the vital role the Authority plays in serving both residents and visitors.

Throughout the day, Kayanna observed the coordination of ferry arrivals, customer service operations, and the enforcement of port safety procedures. She learned the importance of ensuring passengers safely disembark and remain within designated waiting areas, assisting visitors with general inquiries and island information, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming port environment.

She also gained exposure to the administrative side of port operations, including the processing of private vessel docking fees, monitoring daily activities, and understanding how teamwork and professionalism contribute to the efficient operation of the port.

The experience provided Kayanna with valuable practical knowledge of the North Caicos Port Authority’s commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence, while offering a meaningful opportunity to connect classroom learning with real world public service.
