What an exciting day it is for the Turks and Caicos Islands! πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡¨

We welcomed home our CARIFTA Track & Field team in style, and what a proud moment it was.

From the energy at the airport to the warm reception from supporters and residents, our athletes felt the love and they deserved every bit of it!

Special congratulations to our medalists, David Hall and Herwens Guerrier, along with the entire team and coaches for representing us so well.

You have made your country proud and inspired a generation.

Welcome home, champions!πŸ†πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡¨

What a truly joyful and meaningful day it was as we officially cut the ribbon on the newly rebuilt Visual Arts and Canteen Block at the Raymond Gardiner High School in North Caicos.

This moment carries deep significance. Following the devastation of the 2017 hurricane season, the school lost this important space, but never lost its commitment to nurturing creativity and excellence in the arts. For years, the staff and students persevered, keeping the visual arts program alive without a dedicated facility.

To now see this beautiful, fit-for-purpose block restored and ready for immediate use is a powerful testament to resilience, vision, and the importance we place on our young people.

It was an honour to bring remarks and witness this milestone. Our students deserve spaces that inspire them, and yesterday, we celebrated just that.

Providenciales remains central to national infrastructure planning.

Efforts in 2026 are focused on easing congestion, improving traffic flow, expanding key routes, and strengthening traffic management - all aimed at safer roads and more efficient daily movement for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Accountability and trust are the standards we work by.

Every project undertaken by my ministry is guided by three core commitments:

1. Environmental stewardship + climate resilience
2. Local employment + skills development
3. Transparency through collaboration + public engagement

These principles shape how we plan, how we build, and how we deliver, ensuring progress that is responsible, inclusive, and focused on long-term benefits for the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

2026 is about progress with purpose.

We are not just building infrastructure - we are strengthening the arteries of our economy, our safety, and our daily lives.

Every project is grounded in the needs of our people and the realities of our islands, with a clear focus on sustainability, transparency, and long-term impact.

This is how we build a stronger Turks and Caicos Islands.

When I look back at my birthday weekend, these are the moments that make my heart smile.

The highlight for me is the time spent with the seniors in my community. They have poured wisdom, prayers, laughter, and love into my life long before any celebration ever did. Sitting with them, breaking bread, sharing stories, and simply being present reminds me why community matters so deeply.

Thank you to everyone who joined me for this special evening and the entire weekend β€” family, guests and artists β€” and most of all, thank you to our seniors, who continue to inspire, encourage, and ground me every single year.

These moments are the true gift.

In all things, we give thanks!

My birthday celebration cannot be complete without thanking God for all that he has done and seeing fit to allow me another year under the sun.

Please join me for the Seniors Dinner & Cake Cutting on Saturday afternoon with Washy Williams and The Cooling Waters from 4:30 pm to 8 pm.
