Still on Wednesday the 21st of May 2025, the Kribi Ports Authority (abbreviated in French as PAK) followed a few hours later on the heels of the PAD with its own courtesy visit to the Ambassador. The head of the delegation said they also came for the second edition of the Chadian Shippers' Days that would open on the 22nd and close on the 24th of May 2025, under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno.

À l'instar des invités précédents, ils ont discuté avec l'Ambassadeur du fonctionnement du port de Kribi et de leurs attentes concernant la Journée des Chargeurs Tchadiens. L'Ambassadeur leur a prodigué les mêmes conseils qu'aux responsables du PAD.

Une délégation du Port Autonome de Douala (PAD), conduite par son Directeur du Terminal à Conteneurs, a rendu une visite de courtoisie à l'Ambassadeur de la République du Cameroun au Tchad, le mercredi 21 mai 2025. Le Directeur a informé l'Ambassadeur que lui et sa délégation étaient au Tchad pour prendre part à la deuxième édition des Journées des Chargeurs Tchadiens, qui se dérouleront du 22 au 24 mai 2025, sous le haut patronage du Président de la République du Tchad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno. Outre le Cameroun, des acteurs de la chaîne logistique de plusieurs autres pays participeront également à cet événement.

The container terminal Manager said, during the event, the Douala Ports Authority will sign an agreement with the Chadian Shippers’ Council that will facilitate and lessen several procedures for Chadian shippers at the Douala Port. To prove PAD’s good faith towards the Chadian Shippers, the container terminal has been extended to Dibamba. The Manager said they are also looking forward to tracking all the obstacles on the Douala-Ndjamena corridor that are making transportation of goods from the Douala port to Ndjamena very difficult.

In response, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cameroon to the Republic of Chad, H.E. Mohaman Sani Tanimou, reminded the PAD delegation that they should consider that they are participating in the Chadian Shippers’ Day to market themselves, given that Chad, for the past months, has been surveying the possibility of using the ports of other countries for her shipping. He advised the delegation that Cameroon is Chad’s first trading partner, and so the PAD should know how to manage the capricious nature of their Chadian partners. He also advised the delegation on the need for vigilance on security issues as they stay in Chad.

The second part of Cameroon’s National Day celebration in Chad took place at Radisson Blu Hotel, where the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cameroon to the Republic of Chad, H.E. Mohaman Sani Tanimou, offered a gala evening on behalf of the Government of Cameroon. Guests included a representative of the Chadian Government, heads of diplomatic missions and international NGOs, members of Cameroonian political parties represented in Chad, senior officials of regional and subregional bodies who are of Cameroonian origin, religious and traditional institutions, Cameroonians of all walks of life and some members of the general public.

Dans son discours lors de la soirée de gala, l'Ambassadeur a expliqué le processus électoral au Cameroun, en commençant par le rôle de l'organe national en charge d'organisation des élections (ELECAM), en passant par la responsabilité du Conseil Constitutionnel, jusqu'à la prestation de serment du président élu, par l'Assemblée Nationale.

H.E. Mohaman Sani Tanimou called on Cameroonians living in Chad to be law abiding and responsible in all their dealings.

La cérémonie a été agrémentée par un groupe de danse camerounais présentant des danses des quatre principaux groupes culturels du Cameroun. Des différents plats traditionnels camerounais ont également été servis aux invités camerounais et étrangers.

Fete Nationale du Cameroun au Tchad

L'Ambassade de la République du Cameroun au Tchad a célébré la 53e édition de la Fête Nationale du Cameroun en grande pompe, sous le thème : « Armée et Nation unies pour un Cameroun tourné vers la paix et la prospérité ». Les festivités du 20 mai ont débuté dans la matinée sur le chantier de construction du Complexe Diplomatique du Cameroun à N'Djamena avec la cérémonie de lever des couleurs par le contingent camerounais de la Force Multinationale Mixte basée au Tchad. Plus t**d, les membres du contingent, en compagnie de l'Ambassadeur et d'autres invités, ont suivi en direct le défilé sur le Boulevard du 20 mai à Yaoundé, présidé par le Président de la République du Cameroun, S.E. Paul Biya.

The Cameroonian contingent of the Multinational Mixed Force based in Chad, offered a gala evening at their residence on the 17th of May 2025 in prelude to the official celebration of the 20th of May this year. The ceremony took place under the chairmanship of H.E. Mohaman Sani Tanimou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cameroon to the Republic of Chad.

In his toast on the occasion, the Ambassador lauded the Contingent for their loyalty to fatherland and their devotedness in fighting Boko Haram and providing other invaluable security services to both Cameroon and Chad.

A video providing details about Cameroon as a “Continent” was projected to the great amazement of the guests to the ceremony. Invited were Chadian and other international partners and lovers of Cameroon.

Le contingent camerounais de la Force Multinationale Mixte basée au Tchad a offert une soirée de gala à sa résidence le 17 mai 2025, en prélude à la célébration officielle du 20 mai de cette année. La cérémonie s'est déroulée sous la présidence de S.E. Mohaman Sani Tanimou, Ambassadeur extraordinaire et plénipotentiaire de la République du Cameroun en République du Tchad.

Dans son toast, l'Ambassadeur a salué la loyauté du contingent envers la patrie et son dévouement dans la lutte contre Boko Haram, ainsi que d’autres services de sécurité précieux qu'il rend au Cameroun et au Tchad.

Une vidéo présentant le Cameroun comme un « continent » a été projetée, au grand émerveillement des invités de la cérémonie. Parmi les invités figuraient des partenaires tchadiens et internationaux, ainsi que des amoureux du Cameroun.

Over the past two weeks, beginning from the 29th of April to yesterday the 13th of May 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cameroon to the Republic of Chad, H.E Mohaman Sani Tanimou, in the company of his immediate entourage, has been visiting a series of major and outstanding Cameroonian Enterprises operating in Chad.

On Tuesday, the 29th of April 2025, the Ambassador visited SAAR Insurance and Express Union. On Wednesday, the 30th of April, he visited Camair-Co and Tradex. Yesterday, Tuesday, the 13th of May 2025, the Ambassador visited the Autonomous Port of Douala, Njamena Branch. As at now, the remaining renowned company to be visited later is Fokou Foberd.

The purpose of the visit, according to the Ambassador was to get close acquaintance with all the major Cameroonian enterprises operating in Chad, know their location, understand the challenges they are facing as foreign companies, and encourage them to know that the Embassy is with them in all situations. He reminded the managers of these companies that he was not coming to them for any tax-related issues, or to seek any favours from them, or to request any confidential information which may be detrimental to any of the companies. Rather, he said he had written to each of them requesting for information that would enable the Embassy build a reliable database of Cameroonian companies and enterprises operating in Chad for security and diplomatic reasons. The database will also enable the embassy know at what level to intervene in the case of any problem with the administration of the host country.

During discussions, though separately, all the managers expressed similar challenges with the Chadian tax agents, residence permit, the police, customs, employment contracting systems, etc.

The Ambassador promised to channel their problems to the appropriate quarters – the Chadian Government and/or the Government of Cameroon.

On the whole, all the managers of the companies and enterprises visited, speaking on behalf of their staff and the company, expressed visible satisfaction with the initiative of the Ambassador to visit them. They all said no Ambassador has done this before since the existence of the Cameroon’s Embassy in Chad or their companies.
