The Mechai Learning Commons (MLC) and Secondary Library at NIST not only provide a wealth of print and digital resources, but also serve as community hubs for NIST students, teachers and parents. The traditional elementary library has been reimagined as The Mechai Learning Commons (MLC), which opened in a new exciting space at the beginning of the 2015-2016 academic year. It also holds an extensiv
e collection of non-fiction books for inquirers from easy through to junior level. The MLC collection includes many digital resources including PebbleGo, PowerKnowledge and Tumblebooks, news and magazines, which are accessible through Veracross. The Secondary Library can be found on the main floor of the secondary building, next to the secondary office. This library houses a collection of junior, young adult and adult fiction, as well as non-fiction books, for students in Years 7-13 and adults. There are a wealth of magazines and newspapers in the Secondary Library that can be borrowed for leisure reading. We maintain a number of online subscriptions, including Britannica Encyclopedia, EBSCO, JSTOR, and BrainPop. All databases, digital news and magazines are accessible through Veracross.
