Egypt Upholds the Principles and Parameters of the Political Settlement of the Palestinian Cause
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms Egypt's steadfast commitment to the principles and parameters of the political settlement for the Palestinian cause. It emphasizes that it remains the central issue in the Middle East and that the delay in resolving it, ending the occupation, and restoring the long-deprived rights of the Palestinian people is the root cause of instability in the region.
In this context, the Ministry reaffirms Egypt's continued support for the resilience of the Palestinian people on their territory and upholding their legitimate rights in their homeland, as well as to the principles of international law and international humanitarian law. It also stresses its rejection of any infringement on these inalienable rights, whether through settlement activities, annexation of land, or vacating its inhabitants through displacement or the encouragement of the transfer or uprooting of Palestinians from their land, whether temporarily or permanently. Such actions threaten stability, risk further extending the conflict to the region, and undermines opportunities for peace and coexistence between its peoples.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the international community to work towards the actual implementation of the two-state solution, including the establishment of the Palestinian state on its entire national territory, within the context of the unity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in accordance with international resolutions and the 4th of June, 1967 lines.
