โครงการ Erasmus+ เป็นโครงการของสหภาพยุโรป ซึ่งมีจุดมุ่งหมายในการสนับสนุนด้านการศึกษา การอบรมพัฒนา เยาวชน และการกีฬาในภูมิภาคยุโรป โดยได้รับงบประมาณกว่า 26.2 พันล้านยูโรในปี ค.ศ. 2021 - 2027 Erasmus+ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อเพิ่มโอกาสทางการศึกษาในต่างแดนและความร่วมมือหลากหลายด้าน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นในระดับอุดมศึกษา การฝึกอาชีพ การอบรม การศึกษาระดับโรงเรียน และอื่นๆ อีกมากมาย

What is Erasmus+ and why Thai students should apply for it? 🇪🇺

Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. The programme's budget is €26.2 billion in 2021-2027. Erasmus+ offers mobility and cooperation opportunities in various aspects including higher education, vocational education and training, school education etc.

One of the most popular Erasmus+ programme is the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJMs). EMJMs is a prestigious, integrated, international study programme at master’s level. It is jointly designed and delivered by a group of higher education institutions. They involve at least 3 institutions from at least 3 different countries, and multiple associated partners from the academic and non-academic world. It also offer full scholarships to the best-ranked students worldwide. 🎓✈️🌍

The Erasmus+ programme started off with just one Thai awardee in 2004, and the numbers has grown considerably over the years.

Until today, a total of more than 2,000 Thai students and scholars have benefitted from Erasmus+. This year, over 20 Thai students will take part in the EMJMs.

[English below] 🌏📈🇹🇭 ในช่วงครึ่งแรกของปี พ.ศ. 2566 ประเทศไทยต้อนรับนักท่องเที่ยวจากประเทศกลุ่มสหภาพยุโรป 1.38 ล้านคน 🇪🇺 ซึ่งถือเป็นกลุ่มประเทศที่มีนักท่องเที่ยวสูงที่สุดสุดเป็นอันดับ 3 รองจากมาเลเซีย (2.1 ล้านคน) และรองจากจีน (1.44 ล้านคน) เพียงเล็กน้อย

เห็นได้ชัดว่าเสน่ห์ของวัฒนธรรมไทย ภูมิประเทศที่สวยงาม และการต้อนรับที่อบอุ่นของประเทศไทย ยังคงดึงดูดใจนักท่องเที่ยวจากสหภาพยุโรปเสมอมา 🌴🌺

🌏📈🇹🇭 In the first half of 2023, Thailand welcomed 1.38 million tourists from the EU bloc 🇪🇺, making it the 3rd highest tourists numbers after Malaysia (2.1 million) and just slightly behind China (1.44 million).

It is clear that the allure of Thailand's rich culture, breath-taking landscapes, and warm hospitality continues to captivate travellers from the EU. 🌴🌺

When you face serious problems in third countries such as a lost or stolen passport, serious accident or illness, being the victim of a crime, and if your own EU country has no Embassy or Consulate at your destination, you can get help from another EU country.

You will be treated the same way as a citizen of the EU country helping you. That is one of your fundamental rights as an EU citizen. 🏖️

ทั้งสองฝ่ายร่วมหารือถึงวิธีการยกระดับความร่วมมือระหว่างสหภาพยุโรปและประเทศไทย เพื่อส่งเสริมความเท่าเทียมทางเพศและการเสริมสร้างศักยภาพของสตรี

On 26 July, Ms. Laure Brachet, Head of the Political, Press and Information Section at the EU Delegation met with Dr. Perada Phumessawatdi at the Department of Women's Affairs and Family Development, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand.

Both sides discussed how to enhance cooperation between the EU and Thailand to further promote gender equality and women empowerment.

📚✈️ เมื่อวันที่ 25 กรกฎาคม จัดงาน + Pre-Departure Orientation and Networking Event ประจำปี พ.ศ. 2566 ที่โรงแรม ดิ แอทธินี

คุณโลร์ บราเซต์ หัวหน้าฝ่ายการเมือง สื่อ และข้อมูลข่าวสาร คณะผู้แทนสหภาพยุโรปประจำประเทศไทย ได้อวยพรให้นักศึกษาทุกคนประสบความสำเร็จทั้งในเส้นทางการเรียนและการทำงาน และยังกล่าวว่า การไปศึกษาต่อในต่างประเทศถือเป็นโอกาสอันยอดเยี่ยมที่นักศึกษาจะได้สัมผัสกับวัฒนธรรมที่หลากหลาย พร้อมทั้งพบปะ ทำความรู้จักกับผู้คนจากทุกสาขาอาชีพและหลากหลายพื้นเพ

จากนั้น ดร.ธีรพันธ์ อรธรรมรัตน์ รองศาสตราจารย์ประจำภาควิชาวิศวกรรมโยธาและสิ่งแวดล้อม คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ผู้ได้รับทุน อีราสมุส มุนดุส (Erasmus Mundus) ในปี พ.ศ. 2548-2550 ก็ได้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์เพื่อสร้างแรงบันดาลใจแก่นักศึกษาใหม่ทุกคนที่กำลังจะเดินทางไปเรียนต่อ

งานนี้ยังเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาได้แลกเปลี่ยนกับผู้แทนจากสถานทูตประเทศสมาชิกสหภาพยุโรปอย่างเป็นกันเอง เพื่อสอบถามข้อมูล วิถีชีวิต และเกร็ดความรู้เกี่ยวกับประเทศสมาชิกสหภาพยุโรปที่นักศึกษากำลังจะเดินทางไปอาศัย

นอกจากนี้เครือข่ายศิษย์เก่าทุน Erasmus+ ในประเทศไทย ยังได้จัดการประชุมเชิงปฏิบัติการ (workshops) เพื่อให้คำแนะนำเกี่ยวกับเคล็ดลับการใช้ชีวิตและการศึกษาต่อในยุโรปให้เป็นไปอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและสนุกสนานในเวลาเดียวกัน

เราขอให้นักศึกษาทุกคนประสบความสำเร็จในด้านการเรียนและเก็บเกี่ยวประสบการณ์อันน่าจดจำในยุโรปให้ได้มากที่สุด! 🇪🇺🌍

🇪🇺 🇹🇭 Congratulations to all the talented awardees who will take part in the Erasmus+ programme this year!

📚✈️ On 25 July, organised the + Pre-Departure Orientation and Networking Event 2023 at Athenee Hotel.

Delivering an opening remark, Ms. Laure Brachet, Head of Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Thailand, wished them a wonderful professional journey and said that studying abroad presents a wonderful opportunity for students to immerse in diverse cultures and interact with people from all walks of life.

Dr. Teeraphan Ornthammarath, Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, who received an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship in 2005-2007, also gave an inspirational speech to the new students.

The event was an opportunity for awardees to exchange and discuss with representatives from EU member states in Thailand to gain insights on the EU countries they will study and live in.

The Erasmus+ Network in Thailand alumni team organised workshops on how the new students could make their learning in Europe both productive and at the same time enjoyable.

We wish everyone success in their studies and a memorable Erasmus+ experience! 🇪🇺🌍

[English below] 🌍🌱🤝 วันนี้ คณะผู้แทนสหภาพยุโรปประจำประเทศไทย ได้นำเสนอผลการศึกษาถึงผลกระทบที่อาจจะเกิดขึ้นจากข้อเสนอกฎระเบียบว่าด้วยสินค้าที่ปลอดจากการตัดไม้ทำลายป่าของสหภาพยุโรป (EU Deforestation-free Products Regulation - EUDR) โดยจุดมุ่งหมายของกฎระเบียบนี้คือการรับประกันว่าผลิตภัณฑ์ที่พลเมืองสหภาพยุโรปเลือกซื้อหรือบริโภคจะไม่ก่อให้เกิดการตัดไม้ทำลายป่าหรือทำให้ป่าเสื่อมโทรมทั่วโลก

🌿กฎระเบียบใหม่นี้ถูกบังคับใช้เมื่อวันที่ 29 มิถุนายน ที่ผ่านมา และมีระยะเวลาเปลี่ยนผ่าน 18 เดือนก่อนที่กฎระเบียบทั้งหมดจะมีผลสมบูรณ์ในราวเดือนธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2567 กฎระเบียบดังกล่าวครอบคลุมสินค้าเกษตรหลัก 7 ชนิด ได้แก่ โคกระบือ โกโก้ กาแฟ ปาล์มน้ำมัน ยางพารา ถั่วเหลือง และไม้ซุง

💬ในวันนี้ ผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียที่สำคัญในประเทศไทยกว่า 100 ท่านจากทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชนได้เข้าร่วมรับฟังผลการศึกษา แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็น และแสดงข้อกังวลที่มีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อการดำเนินการในขั้นต่อไป

💚ผลการศึกษาและข้อเสนอแนะที่ได้จะนำไปใช้ในการออกแบบโครงการความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยและสหภาพยุโรป เพื่อช่วยให้ผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียของประเทศไทยปฏิบัติตาม EUDR เพื่อส่งเสริมแนวทางปฏิบัติที่ยั่งยืนและการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม

🌍🌱🤝 Today, presented the results of the assessment on the potential impact of the European Union Deforestation-free Products Regulation (EUDR) proposal. The aim of this regulation is to guarantee that the products EU citizens consume do not contribute to deforestation or forest degradation worldwide.

🌿 The new EUDR came into force on 29 June 2023, and is accompanied by an 18-month transition period before all requirements are put in place in December 2024. The regulation covers seven agricultural commodities including cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soya and timber.

💬 In today’s session, there was an active participation of over 100 key Thai stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. Their valuable questions and concerns are pivotal in shaping the way forward.

💚 These assessment results will serve as a basis to design a program that will assist Thai stakeholders in complying with the EUDR, fostering sustainable practices and promoting environmental preservation.

🤝 Both the EU and Thailand are ready to work hand in hand to ensure a successful and mutually beneficial transition under this new regulation.

รู้หรือไม่ว่า?

- บรัสเซลส์ เมืองหลวงของเบลเยียมถือเป็นเมืองหลวงโดยพฤตินัยของสหภาพยุโรป เนื่องจากเป็นที่ตั้งของสำนักงานหลายแห่งที่เป็นศูนย์กลางในการบริหารงานของสหภาพยุโรป ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ในย่านสหภาพยุโรปชื่อว่า ชูมันน์ควอเตอร์ โดยตั้งชื่อตามปฏิญญาชูมันน์ที่ประกาศเมื่อวันที่ 9 พฤษภาคม ค.ศ. 1950 อันเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการก่อตั้งสหภาพยุโรป 🏛️ 🇪🇺

- แท้จริงแล้วเฟรนช์ฟรายส์มาจากเบลเยียม! ในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 1 ทหารอเมริกันเข้ามาต่อสู้ในเบลเยียมและได้รู้จักกับมันฝรั่งทอด ในเวลานั้นภาษาทางการของกองทัพเบลเยียมคือภาษาฝรั่งเศส ดังนั้นเหล่าทหารจึงตั้งชื่อเล่นให้มันฝรั่งทอดนี้ว่า "เฟรนช์ฟรายส์" 🍟

ประเทศเบลเยียมเป็นหนึ่งใน 6 ประเทศผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งของประชาคมถ่านหินและเหล็กกล้าแห่งยุโรป (European Coal and Steel Community) เมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1951 ซึ่งเป็นรากฐานของสหภาพยุโรปที่เรารู้จักกันอยู่ในปัจจุบัน 🇪🇺

- Belgium produces 220,000 tonnes of chocolate per year. 🍫 It is not a surprise that Belgian chocolate is incredibly famous worldwide.

- French fries actually come from Belgium! During World War I, American soldiers were fighting in Belgium and they were introduced to fries. At that time, the official language of the Belgian army was French so they nicknamed the fried potatoes “French fries”. 🍟

Belgium is one of the 6 original members of the European Coal and Steel Community established in 1951, the predecessor of what has become the European Union we know today. 🇪🇺

เมื่อวันที่ 13-14 กรกฎาคม ที่ผ่านมา นายโจเซฟ บอเรลล์ ผู้แทนระดับสูงด้านนโยบายต่างประเทศและความมั่นคงของสหภาพยุโรป และรองประธานคณะกรรมาธิการยุโรป ได้เดินทางไปที่กรุงจากาตาร์เพื่อเป็นประธานร่วมในการประชุมระดับรัฐมนตรีสหภาพยุโรป-อาเซียน (EU-ASEAN Ministerial Meeting) และเข้าร่วม การประชุมอาเซียนว่าด้วยความร่วมมือด้านการเมืองและความมั่นคงในภูมิภาคเอเชีย – แปซิฟิก (ASEAN Regional Forum: ARF)
