⚓ Port and Terminal Congestion Is Creating Further Delays

Port and terminal congestion was also highlighted by our LOGIZALL members during recent conversations.

Delays at ports can quickly affect vessel schedules, container movements, inland transportation and final delivery timelines. For forwarders, this often means having to adjust plans while keeping customers informed about changes they cannot always control.

We understand that these operational challenges can have a direct impact on our members and their customers.

🚛🇹🇭 LOGINEWS | Thailand Accelerates ICD Ladkrabang and Romklao Cargo Terminal Development

On September 4, 2026, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, visited ICD Ladkrabang and Romklao Cargo Terminal to review operations and address long standing challenges in traffic, infrastructure, space management, and container transportation.

📍 Key Focus: Connecting Road, Rail, and Port

The development aims to create a more integrated logistics system connecting:

🚚 Truck transportation
📦 Cargo handling and transfer
🚆 Rail container transportation
⚓ Laem Chabang Port

The goal is to reduce transportation time and costs, improve reliability, and ease truck traffic in Bangkok.

📊 Romklao Cargo Terminal covers approximately 225 rai, with current utilization of around 75% for cargo handling platforms and 72% for warehouses.

🔧 Planned improvements include better infrastructure, safety systems, vehicle monitoring, truck waiting areas, and more efficient space management.

For Logistics and Supply Chain operators, these developments could help improve transportation efficiency, container management, and connectivity between Bangkok and Laem Chabang Port.
