A celebration of a 5 year goal for a self sustainable development program completed by the San Sai Luang Women Vocational Training Center. These women with their leader, Mrs. Ole have survived during these difficult times by maintaining a positive attitude. All possible through the Grandma Cares, the RC of Chiang Mai ThinThaiNgam D. 3360 and by the IFED, International funding to assist women with economic development, projects and students. Thank you again for your support and patience during the 5 years that we walked together to achieve this goal.

Grandma Cares Partnership Program

GCPP was established in Chiang Mai under Rotary International with other International Rotary clubs to assist the orphans, single parents, grandmas, grandpas, or care-givers in assisting with school fundings since 2006. The school fundings from these International rotary clubs given to these needy students through the GCPP have answered dreams and have opened new doors to achieve their goals. Some do excel in their studies do receive recognition from the sponsors. Some Internationals partners have certain skills and share these skills in the schools of our children under the GCPP. The older kids do try to find part time jobs to help with school and meal expenses. We do schools and home visits to see how the child is developing. We also encourage the older students to attend our yrly RYLA, Youth Leadership Camp in Rotary. Plus these students under the GCPP do have the opportunity to attend a rotary club meeting to receive scholarships given by the International rotary partners. The Rotary Club of Chiang Mai ThinThaiNgam, a women's rotary lunch club in Chiang Mai, have managed The GCPP since 2006.
Scholarships are always in need to help pay for the daily milk, lunch and transportation expenses.so any support given to the GCPP is certainly appreciated. Thank YOU!

Happy ending stories for the students. Some have graduated into Jr High, College and some have finish a profession and on their way..after a difficult bumpy road. We are very proud of our kids under the GCPP. All have accomplishments in their little world thanks to the GCPP. All feel like equals-good enough- a leader in their community circle.
May 2019 will be another round of scholarships. Please all continue to donate to this cause the GCPP.
GCPP has expanded into other areas and this would not have been possible without our dear and faithful sponsors who see the value in the GCPP projects-Children's Sight Project, rural schools- mainly Scholarships

Our Story

The current director, Hope Watcharapecha, started the Grandma Cares Partnership Program (GCPP) in February, 2004 with the support of Rotary clubs in Asia. The GCPP began as an effort to provide children affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis with psychological and social support, but rather quickly expanded to go beyond its original mission in order to service the local community. Today, the GCPP has modernized into a force capable of dealing with the more complex problems of the 21st century. Grandma Cares not only sponsors children impacted by HIV/AIDS, but also provides local communities in the Chiang Mai area with much needed support. This includes educational funding, repairing the facilities in schools, English classes, organizing recreational activities, English literacy program for nurses and police officers, and countless other excellent projects. We need your help to continue to helping them. The cost of providing annual care for a child under 15 is only $ 400 a year and $600 for our teenagers of 16 and older. Which covers all expenses. Or you can help an unsponsored child with a simple month by month donation of 500 to 800 baht (about $17-$20) which allows them to have a snack with milk and a hot lunch while at school. This will also pay for their transportation.
