When Medicine Responds to the Call of Forensics

For four intense days, doctors from different municipalities and health facilities across Ifugao stepped out of the clinics and into the vital world of forensic medicine. This specialized training bridges the gap between healthcare and justice, equipping our local medical heroes with the critical skills needed to serve their communities in a whole new capacity.

A massive thank you to our very own expert facilitators who led the way with their wealth of knowledge: Dr. Sheilah Mapalo, Mr. Ruel Huerno, and recently retired Dr. Ronald Bandonill. Your guidance is invaluable!

Shoutout also to our incredible Forensic Chemistry Lab Tech, Mary Joy Huerno, for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes and having our backs with her top-notch technical skills.

NBI-CAR actively participated in a Functional Exercise today. This exercise, spearheaded by Civil Defense Cordillera, focused on the activation and operationalization of the Cordillera MDM Cluster in the aftermath of a simulated M7.8 earthquake.

We remain committed to strengthening our disaster preparedness and response capabilities, ensuring we are ready to serve the people of Cordillera.
