Happy World Dog Day!

Lily, Jasmine, Marco and Shabu - past and present, these four have brought more joy to Spirit Mountain than we can put into words.

They play, they go on adventures, they stare at the monkeys - but most of all, they’re just lovely to have around. They don’t ask for much. A scratch behind the ear. A familiar face. A place to belong.

As one of our team put it - they’re the joy, the happiness and the healer.

We’re grateful every day to have them in our lives.

Still a work in progress - but we couldn’t wait to share it.

Meet our waste management sorting station - built almost entirely from bamboo and natural materials, months in the making. Every pole placed by hand. Every palm leaf laid with intention. A collaboration with NatureMind-ED Research’s WastEd programme and brought to life by our dedicated maintenance staff.

WastEd has been working in Krabi since 2018, addressing one of the most urgent environmental challenges in southern Thailand - plastic pollution, unmanaged household waste and organic materials that end up in open dumps, waterways and the ocean. This station is part of that work, right here on site.

This is where everything finds its next life - whatever can be recycled, reused or composted is sorted and processed here. Less to landfill, more back to the earth.

Guests and whoever passes by are welcome to contribute and use it once it’s ready!

So stay tuned - we’ll show you what gets sorted here and how eco-bricking works in practice 🌿♻️⛰️

The wall has a way of bringing people together. Strangers become belayers. Belayers become friends.

We're so grateful that people from all around the world find their way here. They arrive for different reasons - the climbing, the quiet, the karst. But they all leave with the same thing.

There's something that happens when you live alongside animals. The heart rate slows and the mind quiets.

Studies show that being around animals reduces stress, lowers anxiety and brings us back to the present moment - and we're grateful to have this fluffy creature as part of our life.

He roams freely here - please be gentle with him and give him space to come to you.

Behind every future forest is a nursery.

At Spirit Mountain, our CoForest nursery is where seeds become saplings and saplings become restoration. The interns from NatureMind-ED Research spend time here measuring height, checking health and recording growth - this detailed and extensive tracking is important in understanding how each young tree develops before it’s ready to be planted out in the wild. 🌱

Chief Seattle, a 19th century Indigenous leader and visionary, once challenged the way we think about the world - ‘𝘞𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴, 𝘸𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯.’
He wasn’t asking what our ancestors left us, he was asking what we are leaving our children.
