ÉLECTION PRESIDENTIELLE : L’AMBASSADE AU CŒUR DU PROCESSUS DEMOCRATIQUE
(Tunis, 12 octobre 2025)

À l’occasion de l’élection présidentielle, l’Ambassade s’est transformée en bureau de vote pour permettre aux ressortissants camerounais résidant en Tunisie d’exercer pleinement leur droit civique. Dès les premières heures, de nombreux électeurs ont afflué, témoignant de leur attachement à la vie démocratique nationale.

Sous la coordination de l’Ambassadeur et de ses collaborateurs, toutes les dispositions ont été prises pour assurer un scrutin libre, transparent et sécurisé : aménagement des espaces, formation des membres du bureau de vote, accueil des électeurs et respect des procédures électorales nationales.

L’ambassade a également veillé à la fluidité et à la sérénité du vote, en étroite collaboration avec les autorités de la République Tunisienne dont l’accompagnement a été d’un précieux appui. L’ambiance était à la fois solennelle et conviviale, reflet du civisme et de la maturité politique de la communauté.

À la clôture du scrutin, les opérations de dépouillement et de transmission des résultats se sont déroulées dans le respect de la réglementation en vigueur.

En assurant la bonne tenue du vote, l’Ambassade réaffirme son rôle essentiel de relais de la démocratie et de lien vivant entre le Cameroun et ses citoyens établis en Tunisie.

PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: THE EMBASSY AT THE HEART OF THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS
(Tunis, October 12, 2025)

For the presidential election, the Embassy was transformed into a polling station to allow Cameroonian nationals residing in Tunisia to fully exercise their civic rights. From the very beginning, many voters flocked to the polls, demonstrating their commitment to national democratic life.

Under the coordination of the Ambassador and his staff, necessary arrangements were made to ensure a free, transparent, and safe election : layout of the spaces, training of polling station staff, welcoming voters, and compliance with national electoral procedures.

The Embassy also ensured the smooth and peaceful conduct of the vote, working closely with the authorities of the Republic of Tunisia, whose support has been very appreciated. The atmosphere was both solemn and convivial, reflecting the civic-mindedness and political maturity of the community.

At the closure of the polling station, the vote count and transmission of results were carried out in compliance with applicable regulations.

By ensuring the smooth running of the vote, the Embassy reaffirms its essential role as a relay for democracy and a vital link between Cameroon and its citizens living in Tunisia.

PREPARATIONS FOR THE 2025 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

In anticipation of the election to designate the President of the Republic of Cameroon on October 12, 2025, the Embassy received a delegation from Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), dispatched to strengthen stakeholders’ capacities in this area.

This delegation was chaired by Mr. HAYATOU, accompanied by Mrs. Nathalie ONDOUA and Mr. MOHAMADOU DEWA.

Firstly, ELECAM representatives handed over and presented the materials they were carrying for the upcoming election.

They then spent two days (October 2-3, 2025) training the designated members of the AMBACAM TUNIS A local polling station, which was selected to host the election in the Republic of Tunisia.

The training took place in a friendly atmosphere, and the discussions provided an opportunity to address various issues and answer participants' questions regarding the procedure and the various stages of the election itself.

At the end of this training, members of the Tunis local polling station acquired the knowledge and skills that will enable them to meet voters’ expectations and fulfill their mission on October 12th.

PREPARATIFS DE L’ELECTION PRESIDENTIELLE DE 2025

Dans la perspective de la tenue du scrutin pour élire le Président de la République du Cameroun le 12 octobre 2025, l’Ambassade a reçu une délégation d’Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), dépêchée pour renforcer les capacités des parties prenantes en la matière.

Cette délégation était présidée par M. HAYATOU qu’accompagnaient Mme ONDOUA Nathalie et M. MOHAMADOU DEWA.

Dans un premier temps, les représentants d’ELECAM ont remis et présenté le matériel dédié au prochain scrutin, dont ils étaient les porteurs.

Ils ont ensuite consacré deux journées (du 02 au 03 octobre 2025) à la formation des membres désignés du Bureau local de vote d’AMBACAM TUNIS A, qui a été retenu pour abriter le scrutin en République Tunisienne.

La formation s’est déroulée dans une grande convivialité et les échanges ont permis d’aborder différents points et de répondre aux questions des participants en relation à la procédure et aux différentes étapes de l’élection proprement dite.

Au terme de ces travaux, les membres du bureau local de vote de Tunis ont acquis les connaissances et compétences qui leur permettront d’être à l’écoute des électeurs et d’accomplir leur mission du 12 octobre prochain.

DIGITILIZATION OF CONSULAR SERVICES / DIGITALISATION DES PRESTATIONS CONSULAIRES

The Embassy wishes to inform the public that following the digitilization of consular services, the procedure in force for obtaining consular documents is described in the attached flyers.

DIGITILIZATION OF CONSULAR SERVICES

As part of the process of digitizing consular services within Cameroonian embassies abroad, a delegation of experts from the Ministry of External Relations (MINREX) visited Tunis to build the capacity of Embassy staff in this area.

This delegation was chaired by Mr. Sidi Mougnal, Director of Legal Affairs and International Engagements of the State at MINREX, accompanied by Ms. Benga Marie Armelle and Mr. Tchientcheu Eric.

After being welcomed by H.E. Djobo Samuel, the Ambassador, the aforementioned experts took part in a briefing meeting with Embassy staff and then immediately began training on the new features of the "evisa" service.

The discussions took place in a friendly atmosphere, and the transfer of skills was carried out under favorable conditions, equipping Embassy staff to meet user needs.

This is a process implemented by the Government with the aim of bringing the Cameroonian administration closer to its diaspora.

DIGITALISATION DES PRESTATIONS CONSULAIRES

Dans le cadre du processus de digitalisation des prestations consulaires au sein des Ambassades du Cameroun à l’étranger, une délégation d’experts du Ministère des Relations Extérieures (MINREX) a séjourné à Tunis pour le renforcement des capacités du personnel de l’Ambassade en la matière.

Cette délégation était présidée par M. SIDI Mougnal, Directeur des Affaires Juridiques et des Engagements Internationaux de l’Etat au MINREX, qu’accompagnaient Mme BENGA Marie Armelle et M. TCHIENTCHEU Eric.

Après avoir été accueillie par S.E. DJOBO Samuel, Ambassadeur, les experts susmentionnés ont pris part à une réunion de mise au point avec le personnel de l’Ambassade puis ont aussitôt démarré la formation sur les nouvelles fonctionnalités du service « evisa ».

Les échanges se sont déroulés dans la convivialité et le transfert des compétences a été réalisé dans de bonnes conditions, de manière à outiller le personnel de l’Ambassade pour faire face aux sollicitations des usagers.

Il s’agit d’un processus mis en œuvre par le Gouvernement dans le but de rapprocher davantage l’administration camerounaise de sa diaspora.
