The steering committee of the international festival “The Carthage Theatrical Days” "JTC" is pleased to announce that the 27th session of the festival will be held on November 21 – 28. 2026, and that applications are now open for participation in one of the following sections:
1. Official competition and parallel programming: open to Tunisian, Arab and African professional theatre structures.
2. Theatre of the World: open to professional theatre productions and artistic performances from around the world, as well as to Tunisian, Arab, and African actors from the diaspora.
Participation guidelines:
• The works participating must have been produced after the deadline of files submission for the previous edition (August,31, 2025) (Only for the works from Tunisia, the Arab countries and Africa).
• Selected groups participating in the official competition must present two shows on the same day at the same venue proposed by the steering committee.
• The steering committee may schedule more than one performance for works participating in international shows and parallel shows within Tunisia during the festival period, after coordination with the producing entity.
• The participating theatre groups are responsible for international transportation and shipping of performance materials and sets.
• The steering committee covers full accommodation for the actors, director, and three technicians, as well as local transportation, provided the total number does not exceed 15 people (specific to groups participating from outside Tunisia).
• No more than one work for the same director can be scheduled in the festival program.
Submission documents:
• Biographies and individual photos of the team participating (playwright, director, cast, technicians...)
• Copies of the passports of the members of the foreigner groups.
• The artistic and press file including the synopsis , the artistic concept , critical and media coverage as well as high-resolution photos and the official poster of the show .
• The technical file containing the design of the set and all the scenic elements required as well as the technical needs of sound and light.
• A document proving officially that the premiere has already taken place (such as a first performance certificate) for Tunisian participants.
• A complete high definition audiovisual recording of the play.
• Commitment to provide the English and French subtitles for the performances selected in the different sections (Official Competition, and Theatre of the World).
Note:
The selected troupe undertakes to:
• Present the show exactly as it was viewed by the festival’s selection committee, in accordance with the audiovisual recording provided and the specifications set out in the technical file (sets, sound equipment, lighting and video).
Applications submitted after the deadline mentioned and incomplete ones will not be accepted.
The deadline for submission is set for July 31, 2026.
