Os portugueses Moonspell regressam a Istambul no dia 19 de setembro para participarem na 5ª. edição do Bosphorus Open Air Metal Fest, o mais importante festival de música metal da Turquia e uma presença cada vez mais consolidada no circuito europeu de festivais dedicados aos sons mais pesados.

O concerto conta com o apoio da Embaixada de Portugal na Turquia e do Camões, Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P.

Ao celebrar o seu 5º. aniversário, o festival confirma o crescimento sustentado que tem conhecido desde a sua criação. A edição de 2026 reunirá, ao longo de dois dias, 18 bandas oriundas de diversos países, num cartaz que inclui alguns dos nomes mais reconhecidos da cena internacional, como Satyricon, Kataklysm, I Am Morbid e os portugueses Moonspell. O evento decorrerá no recinto do Maximum Uniq Açıkhava, em Istambul, e deverá voltar a atrair dezenas de milhares de fãs de metal vindos de toda a Turquia e de vários países vízinhos.

Sendo a banda portuguesa mais internacional de sempre, os Moonspell mantêm, há mais de três décadas, uma presença regular nos principais festivais e salas de espetáculo de todo o mundo. O regresso à Turquia reveste-se de especial significado, num país no qual o grupo liderado por Fernando Ribeiro conquistou uma base de seguidores particularmente fiel e entusiasta ao longo dos anos.

A participação dos Moonspell no Bosphorus Open Air Metal Fest representa mais uma oportunidade para dar visibilidade à criação musical portuguesa junto de novos públicos internacionais e reforçar a presença da cultura portuguesa num dos mais dinâmicos mercados culturais da região.

Portuguese metal legends Moonspell will return to Istanbul on 19 of September to perform at the 5th edition of the Bosphorus Open Air Metal Fest, Turkey’s leading metal music festival and an increasingly prominent fixture on the European festival circuit dedicated to heavy music.

The concert is supported by the Embassy of Portugal in Türkiye and Camões, Institute for Cooperation and Language, I.P.

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the festival confirms the steady growth it has enjoyed since its inception. The 2026 edition will bring together 18 bands from various countries over two days, featuring some of the most renowned names on the international metal scene, including Satyricon, Kataklysm, I Am Morbid, and Portugal’s own Moonspell. The event will take place at Maximum Uniq Açıkhava, in Istanbul, and is expected to attract tens of thousands of metal fans from across Turkey and neighbouring countries.

As Portugal’s most internationally successful band, Moonspell have maintained a regular presence at major festivals and concert venues around the world for more than three decades. Their return to Türkiye is particularly significant, as the band led by Fernando Ribeiro has built an exceptionally loyal and enthusiastic fan base in the country over the years.

Moonspell’s participation in the Bosphorus Open Air Metal Fest represents another opportunity to showcase Portuguese musical creativity to international audiences and to strengthen the presence of Portuguese culture in one of the region’s most dynamic cultural markets.

With the support of Camões, Institute for Cooperation and Language, I.P. and the Embassy of Portugal in Türkiye, Portuguese filmmaker Susana de Sousa Dias will be the guest of honor at the 2026 edition of the International Documentary Film Festival Documentarist, which will take place in Istanbul between 13 and 21 June.

The festival dedicates the section Tribute to a Master to the filmmaker, presenting a retrospective of five key works from her filmography: Natureza Morta (Still Life), 48, Obscure Light, Fordlândia Malaise and Fordlândia Panacea.

Internationally recognized for her innovative work on memory, archives, dictatorship, and political violence, Susana de Sousa Dias is one of the most important voices in contemporary Portuguese documentary cinema.

The recognition granted by the Documentarist Festival confirms the growing international acknowledgement of Susana de Sousa Dias’s work and constitutes an important moment in the affirmation of Portuguese culture and cinema among Turkish and international audiences.

Com o apoio do Camões, Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P. e da Embaixada de Portugal na Turquia, a realizadora portuguesa Susana de Sousa Dias será a convidada de honra da edição de 2026 do Festival Internacional de Cinema Documental Documentarist, que decorrerá em Istambul entre 13 e 21 de junho.

O festival dedica à realizadora a secção Tribute to a Master, apresentando uma retrospetiva de cinco obras fundamentais da sua filmografia: Natureza Morta (Still Life), 48, Obscure Light, Fordlândia Malaise e Fordlândia Panacea.

Reconhecida internacionalmente pelo seu trabalho inovador sobre memória, arquivo, ditadura e violência política, Susana de Sousa Dias é uma das mais importantes vozes do documentário contemporâneo português.

Feliz Dia de Portugal, de Camões e das Comunidades Portuguesas.
Celebrámos ontem, em Ancara, no Hotel HiltonSA, o Dia de Portugal, de Camões e das Comunidades Portuguesas, na companhia de portugueses e portuguesas, representantes das autoridades turcas, diplomatas, artistas, empresários, académicos e muitos amigos de Portugal.
Foi um momento de encontro, celebração e reflexão sobre o trabalho que temos desenvolvido em prol de Portugal na Turquia. Assinalámos, igualmente, datas marcantes da nossa história e do nosso presente: os 100 anos de relações diplomáticas entre Portugal e a Turquia, os 500 anos do nascimento de Camões, os 50 anos da Constituição da República Portuguesa, os 40 anos da adesão de Portugal à atual União Europeia, os 30 anos da fundação da Comunidade de Países de Língua Portuguesa, CPLP, e a eleição de Portugal para o Conselho de Segurança das Nações Unidas, uma distinção que muito nos honra e orgulha.
Falámos do passado e do caminho percorrido; apontámos ao futuro e ao muito que ainda queremos fazer por Portugal na Turquia.
Que este dia continue a reforçar os laços que unem os portugueses espalhados pelo mundo e a projetar Portugal além-fronteiras.

Happy Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities abroad.
Yesterday, in Ankara, at the HiltonSA Hotel, we celebrated the Day of Portugal, Camões and Portuguese Communities abroad in the company of Portuguese citizens, representatives of the Turkish authorities, diplomats, artists, business leaders, academics and many friends of Portugal.
It was a moment of gathering, celebration and reflection on the work we have been carrying out in support of Portugal in Türkiye. We also marked important milestones in our history and present: the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Portugal and Türkiye, the 500th anniversary of the birth of Luís de Camões, the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese Constitution, the 40th anniversary of Portugal’s accession to what is now the European Union, the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries, CPLP, and Portugal’s election to the United Nations Security Council — a distinction that greatly honours us and fills us with pride.
We reflected on the past and the path we have travelled; we also looked to the future and to all that we still hope to accomplish for Portugal in Türkiye.
May this day continue to strengthen the bonds that unite Portuguese communities around the world and help project Portugal beyond its borders.
