On July 7 and 8, 2026, Prime Minister Luc Frieden, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Xavier Bettel, and Minister of Defense Yuriko Backes attended the NATO Summit held in Ankara.
At the Summit, the political leaders of the Atlantic Alliance discussed NATO’s policy direction, translating the financial commitment made at the Hague Summit into military capabilities and forces that contribute to the Alliance’s deterrence and defense posture. In this context, Prime Minister Luc Frieden emphasized the importance of the principle of solidarity among Allies, while expressing support for the goal of a stronger European pillar within a stronger NATO.

7 ve 8 Temmuz 2026 tarihlerinde Başbakan Luc Frieden, Başbakan Yardımcısı ve Dışişleri ile Dış Ticaret Bakanı Xavier Bettel ile Savunma Bakanı Yuriko Backes, Ankara’da düzenlenen NATO Zirvesi’ne katıldı.
Zirvede, Atlantik İttifakı’nın siyasi liderleri, NATO’nun politika yönelimini ele alarak, Lahey Zirvesi’nde taahhüt edilen mali kaynakları, İttifak’ın caydırıcılık ve savunma duruşuna katkıda bulunacak askeri yeteneklere ve kuvvetlere dönüştürmeyi tartıştılar. Bu bağlamda Başbakan Luc Frieden, müttefikler arasındaki dayanışma ilkesinin önemini vurgularken, daha güçlü bir NATO bünyesinde daha güçlü bir Avrupa ayağı hedefine destek verdiğini ifade etti.

On 23 June, Ambassador Daniel Da Cruz and Mrs. Natalija Da Cruz hosted a reception in Ankara on the occasion of Luxembourg's National Day. The event was honored by the presence of Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Minister of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye.
The reception provided an opportunity to celebrate the close and friendly relations between Luxembourg and Türkiye, built on 80 years of diplomatic relations, while reaffirming the common desire to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Guests from government institutions, the diplomatic corps and the business community joined the celebration alongside many friends of Luxembourg.

🇱🇺✨ National Day Eve is here!!

And this year feels especially meaningful: it is the first National Day Eve with Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie as the new Grand Ducal couple. 👑

Tonight, the celebrations kick off across the Grand Duchy, and Luxembourg City goes all in!

It starts in the afternoon with the solemn changing of the guard at the Grand Ducal Palace, and by the evening, the whole capital turns into one big open-air party.

As evening falls, the capital comes alive: the traditional torchlight procession moves through the city, streets and squares turn into an open-air celebration, and music fills the night with free concerts, DJs and dance floors across town.

As usual, the eve of National Day will also be dedicated to electronic dance music at Glacis square, with international DJs including Alesso, Nicky Romero, MATTN and Nora En Pure set to perform. (😍🤤🥹✨)

And then, later at night at 11pm: fireworks above the Adolphe Bridge! A highlight every year 🎆

So grab your people, follow the music and enjoy one of the most festive nights of the year.
