The International Business Forum (IBF) was created in 1995 as a platform for fostering dialogue between government, private sector and civil society to promote and disseminate sustainable business models in emerging and developing countries. The IBF is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ
). The 16th IBF will take place in Istanbul from October 23-24, 2013. This year, the IBF will focus on green and inclusive businesses (GIB) in developing and emerging countries and their market environment. The IBF will bring together about 250 participants from around the world. The forum primarily addresses Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and organisations with green and inclusive business models, as well as those wishing to learn more about this rapidly growing field. The IBF also encourages investors, NGOs, development organisations, policy makers, academics, service providers and think tanks to connect with GIBs and to jointly explore how to build an effective market environment that fosters social and environmental impact.
