Melli, 14th February, 2017: A coordination meeting for upcoming Jubilee Celebrations of SDF Party was organized by SDF, Melli Constituency which was chaired by the Hon'ble Minister cm area MLA Smt. Tulshi Devi Rai and was attended by the Zilla Panchayats, Gram Panchayats and CLC, BLC and WLC members of the party. The coordination meeting was organized for Turuk Ramabong Gram Panchayat Unit.
The meeting observed a minute of silence in prayers for the departed soul of Shri D.R. Basnett, former MLA of the constituency who passed away at the CRH, Manipal. Two active SKM youths Shri Bigyan Lepcha and Samuel Lepcha also joined SDF on the occasion and were formally welcomed into SDF party by the Hon'ble area MLA. The Hon'ble are MLA informed the gathering about the importance of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations being observed by the SDF party and said that the SDF party members play a very important role in strengthening the party which in turn enables the party to work with more confidence. She said that the contributions of the SDF party members and the people of Sikkim in voting SDF to power for five consecutive terms have ensured in making Sikkim what it is today. The meeting was also addressed by Shri R.P. Gurung, CLC President of Melli Constituency, Zilla Panchayats and other party workers.

Tulshi Devi Rai and was attended by the Panchayats and CLC, BLC and WLC members of the party. The coordination meeting was organized for the two GPUs of the constituency, viz. Sumbuk Kartikay GPU and Lungchok Kamerey GPU.
In her address, Hon'ble Minister informed the gathering about the historical importance of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations being observed by the SDF party and said that the SDF party members should consider themselves fortunate to have been associated with the party which has transformed Sikkim into one of the most progressive states in the country. She said that the contributions of the SDF party members and the people of Sikkim in voting SDF to power for five consecutive terms have ensured in making Sikkim what it is today. The meeting was also addressed by Shri R.P. Gurung, CLC President of Melli Constituency.

A constituency level coordination meeting with the Presidents of CLC, BLCs and WLCs was organized by SDF Melli Constituency which was chaired by the Hon'ble area MLA cm Minister Smt. Tulshi Devi Rai. The objective of the meeting was to chalk out various party activities to be undertaken by Melli Constituency in the year 2017, and also about the membership drive and silver jubilee celebrations of the party.
All the presidents of CLC, BLCs and WLCs reaffirmed their deep commitment to work more diligently to strengthen the part at their respective wards and asserted that they will continue to take the programmes and policies of the party to every household of their ward.
In her address, Smt. Tulshi Devi Rai thanked the CLC, BLC & WLC Presidents for their unwavering support to carry out various party activities during the 2016 and urged them to continue with the same vigour in coming years too. She extended her New Year greetings to all on behalf of the party President Shri Pawan Chamling. She said that WLC has a very important role to play in order to strengthen the party at the grassroots and urged them to reflect and realize the important responsibility that they have to shoulder and called upon them to work to their fullest capacity. She reiterated that she’s been trying her best to do justice to the people of Melli Constituency and thanked the people for reposing their faith on her. The meeting was also addressed by CLC President Shri R. P. Gurung, CLC Vice- President Shri N.B. Pradhan. CLC Advisor Shri M.B. Tamang, Smt. Bina Sharma Cheli Vice Convener and Shri N.K. Chettri CLC General Secretary.

Melli is all set to receive Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling on the week long Mahaapuraan "Srimad Bhagawt Mahaapuran Saptaah Gyaan Mahaa Yagya" organized by Chettri-Bahun Sudhar Sangathan, Melli Bazaar.
The Puraan started on 8th September and shall continue till 14th September. The Hon'ble Chief Minister shall be received by the Hon'ble Minister Smt. Tulshi Devi Rai, organizing committee and the people of Melli Bazaar.

Hon'ble Minister for Social Justice Empowerment & Welfare Department attended the celebrations of nutrition week organised at Melli Dara today. Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department presented a beautiful demonstration on the importance of nutrition the cooperation of the people. The department also organized a quiz competition with the students of Melli Gumpa Secondary School on the importance of nutrition on lactating mothers.
Hon'ble Minister was joined by Gram and Zilla Panchayats, officers from the department, Aganwadi Workers and lactating mothers of the GPU. The Minister extended thanks to all concerned.
