BUSHFIRE ALERT โ€“ DRY SEASON WARNING ๐Ÿ”ฅ
The dry season brings an increased risk of bushfires. Hot temperatures, low rainfall and strong winds allow fires to spread quicklyโ€”often caused by human activity.

The Arima Borough Corporation Disaster Management Unit warns to:
-Do NOT light fires outdoors
-Avoid burning garbage or vegetation
-Never discard lit ci******es or matches

If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately:

Strengthening Our Readiness to Serve the Borough of Arima! ๐Ÿšจ
The Disaster Management Unit of the Arima Borough Corporation recently joined the other 13 Municipal Corporations in a specialised training programme titled โ€œThe Art of Managing an Emergency Operations Centre.โ€

This important initiative was made possible through collaboration between the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Governmentโ€™s Disaster Management Coordinating Unit (DMCU) and Apexis Risk Innovation Group, an affiliate of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) Corporate Learning Center.

This training provided disaster responders across Trinidad and Tobago with practical tools, real-world scenarios, and modern techniques to enhance coordination, decision-making, and overall effectiveness in managing Emergency Operations Centres during critical events.

For us in Arima, every opportunity to build capacity matters. Strengthening our skills means strengthening our community, and we remain committed to improving how we prepare for, coordinate, and respond to emergencies that may affect our burgesses.

Standing With Our Caribbean Family ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น

In recent weeks, the Arima Borough Corporation Disaster Management Unit has been working closely with the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government and other Municipal Corporations to gather relief supplies for the people of Jamaica following the devastation of Hurricane Melissa.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the Arima community, we were able to collect a significant amount of items. On Friday 14th November 2025, these donations were carefully prepared and sent to the Port of Point Lisas, where they began their journey to support the affected families in Jamaica.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to every resident who contributed. Your willingness to help, your compassion and your sense of community truly reflect the spirit of Arima. Together, we continue to show that in times of need, Caribbean people stand strong side by side.
