From Port-of-Spain to Caracas, Trinidad Stands with Venezuela🇹🇹🤝🇻🇪

In response to the recent earthquake doublet in Venezuela, the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government, in collaboration with the Arima Borough Corporation Disaster Management Unit, is coordinating a humanitarian relief drive.

We are calling on burgesses, community groups, organisations, and businesses in the Borough of Arima to support affected families through donations of approved essential items listed below.

1) Non-perishable food items (including bottled water) with a minimum shelf life of three (3) months:
•All-purpose flour & White rice (5 lb each)
•Dried lentils or kidney beans (2 lb each)
•Cooking oil (500 mL plastic bottle only)
•Canned fish/meat (4 × 5 oz pull-tab cans)
•Canned vegetables or beans (2 × 15 oz pull-tab cans)
•Granulated sugar (2 lb)
•Salt (1 lb)
•Powdered milk (400 g)
•Peanut butter (16 oz plastic jar)
•Dry crackers (10–16 oz box)

2) Over-the-counter medical supplies:
• Sterile gauze pads & rolled gauze
• Adhesive bandages & medical tape
• Antiseptic wipes & triple antibiotic ointment
• Elastic compression (ACE) bandages
• Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS)
• Pain relievers (Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen)
• Disposable non-latex gloves (nitrile preferred)
• Blunt-tip medical scissors & tweezers

3) Personal hygiene items, including feminine hygiene products
4) Mattresses and cots

A massive thank you to all our CERT members who showed up, stepped up and demonstrated what it truly means to serve on Sunday 12th April, 2026. From coordination to quick thinking under pressure, the level of teamwork on display proves that strong communities are built by committed people working together.

And we’re just getting started!
