🤖 One final test before the real challenge begins.

Teams brought their robots to the final FTC Scrimmage to troubleshoot, refine, and perfect their designs ahead of competition day. Every adjustment, every strategy session, and every successful run brings them one step closer to the field.

Since the first scrimmage, teams have shown significant improvement across design, strategy, and robot performance.

Beyond the field, collaboration has been just as powerful. Students have been working across teams, sharing ideas, and supporting one another both on and off the field, proving that teamwork is just as important as innovation in driving success.

We also extend sincere thanks to our FTC Sponsors, Shell Trinidad and Tobago and the Massy Foundation, for supporting STEM education and fostering opportunities for students to develop their skills in robotics, innovation, and engineering.

Who’s ready for the competition? 🚀

🌎💧 For the health of our planet, every drop matters.

This World Environment Day, we’re highlighting the vital connection between clean water and a healthy environment.

Water treatment plays an important role in protecting our ecosystems, supporting biodiversity, and ensuring safe water for our communities. Understanding how water quality is monitored and maintained helps us appreciate the science behind one of our most valuable natural resources.

💧 WHAT’S IN YOUR WATER | QUICK WATER QUALITY FACTS

You drink it, swim in it and depend on it but are you aware of the science behind it?

🌊 These quick facts reveal how scientists measure and protect the water that sustains all life.

👉 Watch the full video to see how it all connects. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3CuJbpDCW8&t=9s

🔬 1. What can be measured in our water sources?
Water quality is assessed using key indicators such as:
Temperature, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, nitrates, phosphates, pH, and f***l coliform.

🌬️ 2. Why is dissolved oxygen important?
Dissolved oxygen is an indicator of water quality because it shows how well water can support aquatic life. Healthy oxygen levels mean cleaner, well-balanced ecosystems, while low levels can signal pollution and stress on fish and other organisms.

🌫️ 3. How does turbidity affect water quality?
Turbidity refers to the cloudiness of water caused by suspended particles. These particles reduce light pe*******on, limiting photosynthesis. Turbidity can also increase water temperature, and warmer water holds less oxygen, reducing what is available for aquatic life.
Sediments can further clog fish gills, slow growth rates, reduce disease resistance, and prevent proper development of larvae and eggs.

⚗️ 4. What is pH and how is it measured?
pH measures how acidic or basic water is on a scale from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. Pure water has a pH of 7. It is typically measured using pH meters or testing strips.

📺 Dive deeper into these insights. Watch the water quality video today to explore how science helps us protect our water systems.
