In recognition of World Environment Day on June 5th, members of our Future Farmers 4-H Club were privileged to attend the NCIC's United Nations World Environment Day Event at NCIC Nagar.
Students were inspired by addresses delivered by His Excellency Dr. Pradeep Rajpurohit, Indian High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago; His Excellency Diomedes Heraclio Cleghorn Carles, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Panama; Mr. Ugo Blanco, Resident Representative of the UNDP Multi-Country Office; and Dr. Surujdeo Mangaroo, President of the NCIC.
Through their engaging and thought-provoking presentations, students gained a deeper appreciation for environmental stewardship, the impact of waste on our planet and the importance of making small but meaningful changes in their daily lives.
A particularly memorable message was India's "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative, which encourages individuals to plant a tree in honour of their mother.
The speakers' passion and enthusiasm reinforced a simple but powerful message: every action matters. Whether planting a tree, reducing waste, reusing materials or making more conscious choices, each of us has a role to play in protecting our environment.
Our students left the event inspired, informed and empowered to make a difference. We extend our sincere thanks to the NCIC for providing such a valuable learning experience.
