Let's Go Marlins!
SOLD OUT. 440 ATHLETES. 77 YEARS STRONG. WHO CONQUERS MARACAS? ๐โโ๏ธ๐๏ธ
For the first time in 77 years, the Maracas Open Water Swim is completely SOLD OUT, with 440 athletes set to take on the waters this Sunday.
And guess whoโs showing up to make the water feel cramped?
๐น๐น Marena Martinez, the 2026 Carifta Aquatics 5K GOLD MEDALLIST, and now sheโs hunting a DOUBLE-DOUBLE; defending BOTH the 3,000m AND 5,000m womenโs titles.
But sheโs not the only shark in the water:
๐ Dante Pichery (reigning menโs 1,000m champ) is LEVELING UP to the 3,000m.
๐ Gianna Picher is back to defend her 1,000m crown.
๐ 11 Special Olympics T&T athletes are racing alongside the full batch of swimmers in the open water.
Thereโs also a brand-new 500m โFirst-Timersโ race. Snapped up instantly. Thatโs the kind of FOMO we love to see.
