*ADDRESSING MISINFORMATION IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN*
Port of Spain: The PNM takes careful note of false and unfortunate allegations made in the public domain, that a text message was sent by a party official to a known stalwart of the party, Mrs. Joan Yuille-Williams,
debarring her from attending General Council and other meetings of the People's National Movement.
The public is advised that no message of this nature was sent to Ms. Yuille-Williams, who remains a valued and valuable member of the party, held in high esteem, along with members of the ilk of Marilyn Gordon, Orville London, Ferdie Ferreira, and Overand Padmore.
That such damaging and distressing misinformation should have been presented to the public, by those who should know it to be untrue, is of particular concern; however, the PNM remains committed to the highest principles of operation, in line with our constitution.
Any distress caused to Mrs. Yuille-Williams by the circulation of these false
allegations is regretted, and those perpetuating this rumour are asked to
consider its effect on a citizen who has given yeoman service to this country, in the political and social spheres.
The PNM takes this opportunity to thank Mrs. Joan Yuille-Williams for her
continued service and guidance, and looks forward to her further
contributions to the party, which are invaluable.
