The Borough of Diego Martin shares its eastern boundary with both the Port of Spain City Region and the San Juan-Lavantille Region. The council and staff of the Borough Corporation serve the people that live within these boundaries and are responsive to the concerns that they all share. The Diego Martin Borough Corporation is accountable to the Ministry of Local Government of Trinidad and Tobago.

🏆🚨 Champions of CERT Games 2026! 🚨🏆
Teamwork, resilience and community spirit were on full display at the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Games 2026 Finals, held on Sunday 24th May at the Queen’s Park Savannah, as teams competed in a dynamic showcase of emergency response skills, coordination and preparedness.

The Diego Martin Borough Corporation proudly congratulates the 🥇 North Zone on emerging as Champions of the CERT Simulation Games 2026 after an outstanding performance throughout the competition.

The North Zone Team comprised the Diego Martin Borough Corporation Disaster Management Unit, led by Coordinator Ms. Kathy Christopher, the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation Disaster Unit and the Port of Spain City Corporation Disaster Unit, whose combined efforts, discipline, and determination led to this remarkable achievement. We are especially proud of the contribution made by the DMBC Disaster Management Unit as part of the victorious team. 👏🔥

Congratulations are also extended to the 🥁 South Zone for securing the title in the March Past Competition with a disciplined and spirited presentation. 🇹🇹✨

Adding to the pride of the occasion was the strong support shown to the DMBC Disaster Management Team by Chief Executive Officer Sherry Hazel-Loney, Her Worship the Mayor, Akeliah Glasgow-Warner, Deputy Mayor, Valiesha Sookdar, Chairman of the Disaster Management Committee, Councillor Marcia Marslin, fellow Councillors and members of staff, whose presence and encouragement reflected the Corporation’s continued commitment to disaster preparedness, emergency response and community resilience.

Special commendations are extended to all participating teams for their dedication, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness efforts across Trinidad and Tobago. 💪🚒🚑

Congratulations to Diego Martin burgesses Kristopher and Kristian La Touche for proudly representing Trinidad and Tobago at the 2026 Whitsuntide Games Regional Competition in Grenada. 🇹🇹👏

Both brothers delivered outstanding performances, with Kristopher securing the silver medal in the triple jump, while Kristian earned the bronze medal in the high jump. 🥈🥉

Your dedication, hard work, and achievements continue to make Diego Martin proud. Wishing you both continued success in your sporting journey!

🧹🚛 Cleanup exercises continue across various communities within the Borough as teams attached to the Corporation’s Public Health Department remain actively engaged in maintaining cleaner, healthier, and more sanitary surroundings for all burgesses. 🌿♻️

The public is reminded that primary roadways, including the Diego Martin Highway, do not fall under the direct responsibility of the Diego Martin Borough Corporation, but rather under the purview of the Ministry of Works and Transport.

At this time, employees attached to the National Upkeep of Public Spaces Programme are actively engaged in cleanup and maintenance exercises along the Diego Martin Highway. In support of these ongoing efforts and in the interest of maintaining a clean and healthy environment, teams from the Corporation’s Public Health Department are assisting with the removal of cuttings and debris.
