In 2024, The East Port of Spain Development Company Limited (EPOS), in partnership with The Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), launched a Skills Development Programme aimed at helping residents of East Port of Spain utilise their talents and skills to launch or grow their businesses.

The programme provided not only training, but also resources, one-on-one coaching, and mentorship to support participants on their entrepreneurial journeys.

It included modules such as:

Essentials of Starting a Food Business
Technology for Business
Business Hatchery
Off-Grid Solar PV Systems

We spoke with Ms. Charlene Morris, who shared how her experience in the Business Hatchery Programme helped to take her business to the next level. We are proud to see programme participants like Ms. Morris applying their training in meaningful ways to launch and grow successful businesses, create opportunities for others, and make a lasting impact within their communities.

In 2025, the East Port of Spain Development Company Limited (EPOS) commenced upgrade works on the Morris Marshall Community Centre in St Barbs as part of our continued commitment to enhancing community spaces within East Port of Spain.
