The Power of Positive Self-Talk

The way we speak to ourselves can shape how we feel, think, and respond to life’s challenges. Positive self-talk means replacing harsh or negative thoughts with encouraging and realistic ones. Instead of saying, “I can’t do this,” try, “I’ll take it one step at a time.” Remember, your words have power—even the words you say to yourself.

🧘‍♀️ Mindful Mondays: Gomukhasana (Cow Face Pose) 🧘‍♀️

Start your week with deep release and inner balance! Gomukhasana is a powerful seated posture that gently opens the upper and lower body while grounding your energy for the week ahead.

How to Practice Gomukhasana Step-by-Step
Starting Position: Sit comfortably with your legs extended straight forward.

Cross the Legs: Bend your right knee and place your right foot outside your left hip. Then bend your left knee, stacking it over the right, and place your left foot outside your right hip.

Lengthen: Sit up straight, rooting through your seat, and lengthen your spine.

Reach High: Inhale and raise your right arm straight up toward the sky.

Bind & Hold: Exhale, bending your top elbow to reach down your back while bringing your left arm around from behind. Try to clasp your hands (or hold a yoga strap/towel). Hold, breathe deeply, and repeat on the opposite side!

Key Benefits
🧘 Opens Hips & Shoulders: Releases stored tension in deep joint tissues.

🧘 Improves Posture: Encourages natural spinal alignment and counteracts slouching.

🧘 Relieves Stress & Anxiety: Calms the nervous system through steady, mindful breathing.

🧘 Enhances Flexibility: Stretches ankles, thighs, shoulders, and chest.

🧘 Supports Healthy Digestion: Stimulates abdominal organs as you sit tall and breathe deep.

✨ Practice daily. Stay patient. Trust your progress. ✨

🇹🇹 A Glimpse into Trinidad & Tobago's Past

There's something special about old photographs—they capture more than buildings; they preserve moments in our nation's story.

This striking black-and-white image represents the general frontal view of the building once used as the Governor General's House. This photo reflects an earlier era of Trinidad & Tobago, when classic colonial architecture, wide verandas, and lush surroundings defined many of our public buildings.
