In politics you are never quite sure who is who but one thing I can say for sure that Lisa Morris Julien my friend. Beyond the politics, beyond the title of member of parliament, she was a good person, a genuine soul, and someone I was grateful to have known.

Some people come into our lives for a season, but the impact they leave behind last much longer. Today on her birthday, I choose not only to remember her passing, but to celebrate her life. Good people do not always get to live as long as they could, but Lisa certainly left a footprint in the minds and hearts of the people of this country.

Her contribution, who personality, her service, and the memory she created will continue to speak for her. Lisa, you may no longer be here with us but you are certainly not forgotten. Today, we celebrate you, we remember you, and we give thanks for the life you lived.

D'Remedy's Learning Lab has been up and running and we are truly grateful to everyone who continues to volunteer their time, knowledge, service and resources. As we continue to grow, continued donations of these things are welcomed.

Yesterday my wife and I had a wonderful time at the African Emancipation Day Parade through the streets of Point Fortin.

It’s amazing to see how a parade that started in Point Fortin has continued through the years, bringing so many people together. The best part was seeing so many young people dancing, celebrating, embracing tradition and keeping our culture alive.

Here’s to preserving our tradition while celebrating our future. A beautiful celebration of our heritage. ❤️🖤💚

We were extremely delighted to welcome our students to our first session as they embark on their educational journey. At the Lab we are committed to creating a supportive and interactive learning environment to all. This is just the beginning.

DON’T BE DISTRACTED TT!!

We must not allow this Kamla Persad Bissessar government to distract us from the hard realities that are destroying our nation.

The UNC are notorious at the art of distraction and destruction whilst filling their own pockets.

The decimation that has taken place in the energy sector in one year will take years to repair and some are now beyond repair. Nutrien’s closure is a huge blow for TT and the high handed tactics that are being employed by NGC on its other customers may be irreparable. Our gas sector requires careful balancing which was achieved between 2015 to April 2025. Once operators decide they are no longer doing business with TT it will be virtually impossible to get them back. We are not the only country that supplies gas and plants can be moved.

What we have seen with the clear evidence of breaches of proper procurement practices and the most blatant cronyism in appointments of those into office in positions of influence and power has been met with typical distraction based on nonsense. The current threats and attacks on the OPR’s integrity are typical UNC playbook and of no value. It is either LandmarkTT’s processes in awarding contracts to favored friends can be defended legally or not. The appointment by a Minister of his business partner’s husband and other close associates to positions where contracts are distributed from has remained unanswered.

Lastly for now, what we are grappling with this week is the gruesome suggested murder of a two year old babe in Tobago and now charges being laid against the paralyzed girlfriend of a young man who died after being shot by police officers in a situation where there are many questions that remain unanswered.

We, the citizens, who believe in the potential and possibilities of our twin island state of Trinidad and Tobago, must not be distracted. We will remain focused and we will continue to do what we must to ensure accountability.
