Rotunda Gallery TT Highlighting artworks being displayed by local artists in the Rotunda Gallery of the Red House, Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago.

The Rotunda Gallery is part of the Parliament’s outreach programme. Upon the return to the Red House the entrance space in the basement of the Rotunda was used to display artwork of local artists. This was done to allow a different category of persons access to the Red House while adding aesthetically to the visitor experience. There have been several exhibitions over the gallery’s 18 month existe

nce including International Women’s Day, Carnival, Indian Arrival Day, See the Beauty Around Us and World Book Day.

Coming up NEXT!

Ancient Roots: The Living Culture of the First Peoples” in recognition of First Peoples Day observed on October 14 in Trinidad and Tobago.

The history of the First Peoples of Trinidad and Tobago extends thousands of years before the arrival of Christopher Columbus. Their knowledge of the land, rivers, forests, and seas shaped sustainable ways of living, while their customs, spirituality, artisanship, language and traditions laid some of the earliest foundations of life in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Rotunda Gallery invites submissions of artworks that will encourage reflection on the importance of remembering our earliest history.

These artworks celebrate not only the craftsmanship of the instrument itself but also the vibrant communities, shared memories and enduring traditions that have made the Steelpan an emblem of Trinidad and Tobago’s cultural heritage.

Here is our digital catalogue for the recently concluded exhibit "Coup Stories: A Commemorative Exhibition".

We featured work from 11 artists who created one of a kind art pieces that reflected the events surrounding the coup. The exhibition also featured Hansard documents, books, newspaper articles and recollection stories from persons who were affected.

"Rhythm of the Pan Yard - A Celebration of our National Instrument"

The steelpan is more than a musical instrument—it is a symbol of the creativity, resilience and cultural identity of Trinidad and Tobago. Forged from innovation during the 1930s, the steelpan emerged from the ingenuity of communities that transformed discarded oil drums into an instrument capable of producing remarkable melody and harmony.

This exhibition runs from Monday 27th July to Friday 21st August
Opening Hours: 9am - 4pm

Please note we are not open on weekends or public holidays.
