Training by side-by-side to save lives! 🇺🇸🫱🏼‍🫲🏽🇹🇹

This week, U.S. and Trinidad and Tobago security forces successfully concluded a four-day Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) exchange at Teteron Barracks. Participants from the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) and interagency partners worked together through intense, realistic trauma scenarios—focusing on casualty assessment, treatment, and evacuation.

The exchange was co-instructed by a U.S. Special Operations Combat Medic and a previously trained TTDF Special Operations member. This training is a perfect example of how our strong military cooperation builds sustainable, expert training capacity. Congratulations to all the participants on a successful exchange!

Kudos to Fulbright U.S. Scholar Dr. Catherine Cox, who provided guidance to the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) Bachelor of Science in Nursing program to help the University earn the U.S. Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) distinction.
USC is the first university in the English-speaking Caribbean to achieve this milestone. The accreditation allows graduates of the USC program to apply for an advanced nursing degree in the USA without further prerequisites. It also allows them for the first time to take the U.S. National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to practice nursing in the USA, elevating the field in Trinidad and Tobago, and demonstrating American leadership in global health education.

Next stop USA! 🇺🇸

U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Kirsten Michener was thrilled to welcome four exceptional student athletes and their coach as they prepare to embark on the Sports Visitor Program!

This summer, Chae-Marie Crawford, Clemira Seeratan, Gianna Mahabir, and Makeda Guevara, accompanied by coach Kristal Griffith, will head to the United States for a two-week exchange focused on “Advancing Women's Leadership in Sports Ahead of LA28.”
Through mentorship with sports leaders, site visits, and professional development workshops, these participants will gain invaluable insights into leadership as Los Angeles prepares to host the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
