Who is eligible for the Senior Citizens Pension Grant? Watch this video to learn more!

You must be 65 years or older, have an income below $5,500 TTD and be residing in Trinidad and Tobago.

Secondly, you must satisfy either of the following:
1. You must be residing in T&T for twenty (20) years immediately preceding your claim for the Senior Citizens Pension Grant, and out of this 20 years you must not have spent more than five (5) years in aggregate out of the country.

OR 2. You must be residing IN and have lived IN T&T for fifty (50) years in total.

ICYMI: On July 9th, 2024, the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service launched the P.I.P.E. Plumbing Skills Training Programme. This transformative programme is a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Public Utilities, the Water and Sewerage Authority and the Plumbing Association of Trinidad and Tobago.

P.I.P.E. aims to provide training and certification to young individuals aged 18 to 35, enabling them to advance their careers in the plumbing industry. Participants will receive a stipend and can attain a certification recognized throughout CARICOM countries upon successful completion of the programme.

‼️ICYMI‼️The official launch of Frontier Airlines now connects T&T and Puerto Rico with 3 non-stop flights weekly.

Frontier Airlines has officially launched their 3 times weekly, no-stop flight service from Piarco International (POS) to Luis Munoz Martin International Air Port (SJU) Puerto Rico!

On Thursday 11 July, 2024 the inaugural flight landed in T&T which signals the start of the partnership between the two countries. This addition to T&T’s airbridge promises to bolster this country’s Tourism, Trade and Investment and Transportation sector.

ICYMI: 159 graduates of the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service's Youth Agricultural Homestead Programme (YAHP) were awarded 300 acres of land at Chatham Dairy Farm, on Monday, 8th July 2024.

Through the programme, these young agripreneurs gained essential skills, certification from UTT, practical training, and substantial agri-entrepreneurship opportunities, including access to starter homes, start-up grants, and long-term land leases. YAHP is a youth-focused agricultural training programme (full-time and part-time) designed to equip nationals between 18-35 years with the skills to become successful 21st-century agripreneurs.

Let’s congratulate our agripreneurs as they embark on their journey!

The Water and Sewerage Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (WASA) through the Ministry of Public Utilities, commissioned their cutting-edge Operational Control Centre (OCC) today (10. July.2024).

The 2,500-square-foot facility offers a glimpse into the future of water and wastewater management in Trinidad and Tobago. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including video walls and a centralized platform for 24-hour monitoring and control of SCADA Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and telemetric devices, the OCC enhances executive, tactical, strategic, and operational oversight.

In addition to improving monitoring capabilities, the OCC automates the management of several manual processes such as leak repair and water trucking, thereby increasing efficiency and transparency.

The Steelpan has officially been declared as the National Instrument of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago! 🇹🇹

The National Musical Instrument Bill, 2024, was debated in Trinidad and Tobago’s Parliament with unanimous support from all Members present in the House of Representatives and the Senate on July 3rd and 4th, 2024 . Senator the Honourable Randall Mitchell, Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts first introduced the Bill on June 7, 2024 and subsequently piloted the respective debates in Parliament.

The Steelpan is the only musical instrument invented in the 20th century and is the pride and joy of this twin island Republic.

100 young participants to benefit from the launch of PIPE - Plumbing Skills Training Programme! 🚀

ICYMI: On Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service • Trinidad and Tobago (MYDNS) officially launched the PIPE - Plumbing Skills Training Programme at the UWI St. Augustine Conference! This groundbreaking initiative is a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service, The Ministry of Public Utilities through WASA Trinidad & Tobago, and the Plumbers Association of Trinidad and Tobago.

100 young participants across Trinidad and Tobago will embark on an incredible nine-month journey. They will receive hands-on training in plumbing fundamentals and technical know-how, from installing fixtures to managing waste systems. These skills are in high demand locally, and we are excited to see these young talents level up their futures!

The Ministry of Education - TT has commenced notification of successful applicants for the School Supplies and Book Grant via email (where provided) or phone call. Email notifications to all applicants, whether successful or unsuccessful, will continue until July 15th, 2024.

Further email/phone call communication will be sent to successful applicants when funds are deposited/cheques printed.

During the Prime Minister’s Press Conference earlier today addressing the issue of crime in Tobago, the Prime Minister discussed the replenishing of new CCTV cameras in Tobago to assist the police in fighting crime. The Prime Minister also mentioned the plan to ensure that the E99 in Tobago becomes specific to Tobago to ease the access of making a E99 report.

During the Prime Minister’s Press Conference earlier today addressing the issue of Crime in Tobago, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for more Trinidadian police officers to work with Tobagonian police officers to assist them in the fight against crime. The Prime Minister also calls upon Tobagonians to share information with the police to assist in fighting crime.
