Assisting Those In Need
Citizens of Trinidad and Tobago who live outside of WASA’s water distribution grid, and persons who reside in unserved and underserved communities can now have a more stable water supply through the Ministry of Public Utilities new Rainwater Harvesting Programme.
This new initiative will provide successful applicants with a harvesting system and a pump so that rainwater can be collected and safely stored for use.
Residents can also apply for the “Water Tank Assistance” programme, which provides a one – time assistance of a water tank and fittings to low-income households and community-based facilities within affected communities that receive a pipe borne water supply of 72 hours or less per week. This programme is geared towards ensuring citizens have a safe storage of water for daily use.
