We in Trinbago love our diverse peoples, as they add an extra sweetness to our cultural melting pot. The East Asian population of Trinidad and Tobago has grown over the years, with even our own ChinaTown being formed in our capital city.
Over the past several years, a Trinbago tradition has been created that, between February and March every year, Trinidad and Tobago hosts an arts delegation from China. The visits include public performances, workshops and opportunities for professional arts exchange activities. As we continue to celebrate Our People & Culture this week of #caribbeantourismmonth2020, we honour the varied races that colour our vibrant culture.

NTACTT’S YOU ARE NOT ALONE NOVEMBER.
Can you believe it is already November? Have you put the fruit to soak yet? This time last year many of us were preparing for the religious Hindu Festival of Lights – Divali. So much has changed and nobody thought we would be dealing with these challenges this year.
As performers and creators, our jobs are to bring to life the stories of our lives for the purpose of enlightening, entertaining and enriching hearts and minds. Even though we cannot perform for you live, we still want to do our jobs.
We hope you enjoyed Patriotism Month in September where we honoured our iconic playwrights. We loved your positive feedback for NTACTT’s Oral Traditions October and now, our offering for November is all about reminding you, that you are not alone. Here’s an idea of what we have in the works, just for you.
NTACTT’S KNOW-VEMBER STORIES
These stories that will make you think, feel, laugh, maybe even cry, but most of all these stories will remind you that you are not alone. We’ll also take the opportunity to remind you that there are resources out there that can bring relief, ease and healing. Look out for NTACTT’S KNOW-VEMBER STORIES launching soon. Join us for the conversations about the important issues raised in these stories and find out the inspiration for these stories from the creators themselves.
THE TEMPEST CHRONICLES
We’re in rehearsal for Shakespeare’s legendary The Tempest as we get ready to stage our very own interpretation of this universal theatrical masterpiece. Look out for monologues and interviews soon
MAKING A JOYFUL NOISE
In collaboration with the National Steel Symphony Orchestra, NSSO, NTACTT is so looking forward to making a joyful noise at our traditional and highly anticipated Christmas concert. Look out for the broadcast of National Performing Arts Entities Christmas concert in December and for stingers leading up to the concert as we let you in on all the action behind the scenes.
As you can see, you are not alone. We’ve got you! What do you think of the plans for November? Let us know and stay tuned.
