Strengthening Emergency Response for Safer Communities

The Ministry of Homeland Security welcomes the addition of four repaired ambulance vehicles to the operational fleet of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS), further enhancing the nation's emergency response capabilities.

On 11 June 2026, Senator the Honourable Eli Zakour, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, together with the Vehicle Management Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (VMCOTT), officially handed over the keys to the refurbished vehicles to the Honourable Roger Alexander, Minister of Homeland Security, and Acting Chief Fire Officer Mr. Andy Hutchinson.

This collaborative effort reflects the Government's ongoing commitment to strengthening frontline emergency services, improving operational readiness, and ensuring that emergency responders have the resources necessary to serve and protect citizens across Trinidad and Tobago.

The Ministry of Homeland Security remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that enhance public safety, build resilience, and improve the delivery of critical emergency services nationwide.

In observance of Corpus Christi, the Ministry of Homeland Security distributed seedlings to staff, courtesy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, in support of the longstanding tradition of planting on this sacred day.

In Trinidad and Tobago, Corpus Christi is closely associated with the start of the rainy season and is regarded as an auspicious time for planting, with the belief that crops sown on this day will bring a bountiful harvest.

As we honour this cherished tradition, the Ministry encourages everyone to continue nurturing the values of growth, sustainability and community for generations to come.

We honour the courage, sacrifice and resilience of the people who arrived aboard the Fatel Razack on 30 May 1845 in search of a better future. As we commemorate Indian Arrival Day, we celebrate the rich cultural heritage, enduring values and countless contributions of the Indo-Trinidadian community to every aspect of Trinidad and Tobago's development. May this day remind us that our nation's greatest strength lies in the diverse people and traditions that have come together to shape our shared story.
