Under the Global Gateway Investment Agenda, the EU–Caribbean Maritime Investment Mission visited Trinidad and Tobago to advance concrete, bankable projects in the maritime sector.

Discussions with public and private sector partners focused on:

⚓ Port modernisation and electrification
🌱 Green and digital port services
📦 Resilient logistics and shipping
🛟 Maritime safety and disaster-ready operations

By enhancing maritime connectivity—a regional priority under Global Gateway—we are mobilising investment in sustainable infrastructure and strengthening the Caribbean’s role as a hub for global and intra-regional trade.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the final three films from Greece, Poland, and Ireland! 🇬🇷 🇵🇱 🇮🇪
We were on the edge of our seats watching the Greek thriller, The Other Me, which kept us guessing right up to the final moments. The Polish film, Loss of Balance, was an intense psychological drama that lived up to its title, keeping us thoroughly off balance throughout. In contrast, the Irish comedy Four Mothers was both hilarious and deeply touching, offering the perfect blend of humour and heart. A fitting way to end the festival!
We hope you enjoyed the films, the free popcorn, and the door prizes as much as we enjoyed sharing them with you.
A special thank you to the Embassy of Greece in Panama and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Venezuela for hosting two memorable screenings.
Thank you, everyone, for making such a special experience. We hope the festival was as enjoyable for you as it was for us, and that you've taken home some wonderful memories along the way. 🎬🍿❤️ European Film Festival - Trinidad and Tobago

💡🤖 Inspiring young minds to power a sustainable future!

EU Ambassador Cécile Tassin had the pleasure of participating in the AI Energy Hackathon hosted by the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) at its Point Lisas Campus and organised by the Carbon Zero Institute of Trinidad and Tobago (CZITT) and UNICEF.

The hackathon challenged secondary school students to use Artificial Intelligence to analyse energy consumption patterns and develop innovative solutions to reduce energy use and waste in their schools.

Congratulations to all participants, organisers, teachers and mentors for making this inspiring day a success. Together, we are empowering the next generation of innovators and climate champions. 🌍⚡

🎬 Junior EFF 2026 was an outstanding success!
Thirty-seven schools and almost 2000 language students and teachers from secondary schools across Trinidad came together at IMAX CinemaONE to celebrate the magic of film, creativity, and storytelling.
We hope everyone enjoyed the films presented courtesy of the Embajada de España en Trinidad y Tobago - Embassy of Spain to T&T and France in Trinidad and Tobago - Ambassade de France à Trinité et Tobago/Alliance Française Trinidad and Tobago and that the workshops led by the talented young filmmakers and trainers from the UWI St. Augustine Film School sparked an interest in filmmaking in many of our students.
A heartfelt thank you to our Schools Coordinator, our dedicated volunteers from the TT Cadet Force Band, and, of course, the students and teachers whose enthusiasm made this event so special.
Thank you for being part of Junior EFF 2026! 🎥✨

🌍 World Environment Day 2026 🌱

Today, we celebrate the innovators and entrepreneurs who are helping to build a more sustainable future.

In Tobago, the European Union is proud to support Pebs Prosperous Hands, led by entrepreneur Shenel Brathwaite, through the Shaping the Future of Innovation initiative. Thanks to EU funding, Ms. Brathwaite is transitioning from traditional farming to a controlled-environment agriculture system, enabling higher crop yields while reducing water and resource consumption, and minimizing environmental impact.

On this World Environment Day, we reaffirm the EU’s commitment to supporting green solutions that benefit both people and the environment in Trinidad and Tobago.
