Our Volcanic hazard map details communities within 4 zones. RED - VERY HIGH HAZARD, ORANGE - HIGH HAZARD, YELLOW - MODERATE HAZARD AND GREEN - LOW HAZARD. This is not to be confused with the Alert level colors which indicate state of La Soufriere volcano and level of response and readiness protocol.
Communities found within areas indicated as Red and ORANGE zone are likely to be evacuated for extended periods during an explosive eruption as they will be the most heavily impacted by volcanic hazards.
Stay tuned as we continue to detail the hazards of La Soufriere and steps to take in volcano hazard preparation.
This poster was created as part of the Volcano Ready Communities Project, a collaboration between NEMO svg and UWI Seismic Research Centre.
