The Management of the NWRHA takes this opportunity to commend the dedicated and hardworking staff at both the St. James Medical Complex and the Port of Spain General Hospital in lieu of the positive public acknowledgement the Authority received via the Express newspapers article "Patients give NWRHA thumbs up".
This encouragement goes a long way in boosting staff morale in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Let us continue to work together to improve the patient experience of our clients whilst delivering quality health care.

The NWRHA is pleased to announce that six (6) of its Enrolled Nursing Assistants (ENA's) recently received their Doula certification from Doula Alliance of Trinidad & Tobago. The certification ceremony was held on Wednesday 13th January, 2021 at NAPA.

These recently certified Doulas are the very first group of Doulas to be trained from the North West Regional Health Authority.

A Doula is someone whose presence is welcomed in the journey to motherhood as they provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth.

This milestone achievement will allow the Authority to provide an improved birthing experience and with it an additional level of care and comfort to those mothers who access our Maternity services on a daily basis.

Special thanks to the Doula Alliance of Trinidad and Tobago for partnering with the NWRHA to make this vision a reality.

Congrats to our recently certified ENA's!
