Today, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance has announced the first countries that will benefit from the COVAX scheme - subject to being ready to deploy vaccines. We’re pleased that Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 will be part of the initial distribution as a self-funding partner.

Equitable distribution of the C-19 vaccine continues to be a priority of the UK. The United Kingdom 🇬🇧 is a leading supporter of the COVAX Advance Market Commitment and has helped raise $1bn for the scheme from other donors, as well as, committing £548m of UK aid.

For the world to recover from coronavirus, we need to make sure everyone has equitable access to vaccines.

📚On 26 January 2021, High Commissioner Harriet Cross joined the Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago to donate books (old and new) in furthering the Chief Magistrate's vision of small library for Magistrates in T&T.

The donation comes after 2019 training by former 🇬🇧 Chief Magistrate of England and Wales, Howard Riddle CBE, who shared insight on how to effectively implement the T&T Criminal Procedure Rules. During the training the former Chief Magistrate was keen to support the local Magistracy and donated old texts. His donation was bolstered with further books purchased by the High Commission.

Chief Justice Ivor Archie; Justice Gillian Lucky, Chair of the Judicial Education Institute; Deputy Chief Magistrate Cherril Anne Antoine were in attendance alongside other officials of the Judiciary and the British High Commission.

In Trinidad and Tobago , is the presentation of positive COVID-19 cases manipulated to distract from the likelihood of COVID -19 transmission before and during the carnival season (2020)? This is looking at the inward migration, limited of no prevention strategies in place at the time of high transit’ and the close body contact of the event? Why are they only focusing on 'imported cases'? Is it to distract and make it seem like all infections are due foreign contact by nationals that conveniently came in after carnival ? Thus again, ignoring local transmission from the Carnival and Christmas season due to commercial tourism. Again ignoring local transmission from before ad not dealing with it with? Why is there no policy and legislation to address reporting from the private labs and doctors (private sector). Many citizens present to their private doctors due to a dysfunction healthcare system we have presently and most of all- To reduce stigma ( this relates to HIV testing locally as well). The data presented is only reflective of mainly those who have arrived recently into the country (imported) and therefore not a representation of the country's current prevalence. You test a specific population your date will only reflect that population Hence the data you see presented is not the whole picture. And pre-screening is limited due to limited knowledge of a new virus , sign, symptoms and attack. You create a monster and now strategically want to slay it in full view of voters is just another political campaign, sad but another pandemic as well.
Thanks for the assistance but on our return to the UK how do we get to our homes? We have arranged for someone to pick us up. Is that OK with latest news?
