The Americas Competitiveness Forum (ACF) is the Western hemisphere’s pre-eminent event for government and business leaders to discuss innovative methods to achieve economic competitiveness and promote innovation in the Americas. It arose from the recognition of the need to promote trade, address immigration reforms and highlight the importance of investments in Research and Development as a key to
ol for competitiveness. The ACF was previously hosted by Panama in 2013, Colombia in 2012 and the Dominican Republic in 2011. The 2014 ACF will be held in Trinidad and Tobago. The main theme for the VIII ACF is The Human Imagination at Work: Driving Competitiveness, Powering Innovation. The ACF brings together more than 1,000 representatives including Heads of State and/or Government and other Senior-level Government Officials of the 34 Member Countries of the Organisation of American States (OAS), Senior-level Representatives from Competitiveness Authorities, Senior-level Business Executives from across the Americas, Global thought-leaders on Innovation and Competitiveness, Innovators, Entrepreneurs and SMEs, Academia, Civil Society and Tertiary-level Students/Graduates.
