Residents are witnessing progress through our Community-Based Sustainable Water Management (SWM) Programme. In a recent interview, a St Barbs resident praised contractor Mr. Trevonne Nurse for the quality and care of his work, highlighting improvements in drainage and reduced flooding.
Over the last year, over 20 families have benefited from the SWM Programme, a testament to the impact of community-driven solutions and dedicated partnerships. At The East Port of Spain Development Company Limited (EPOS), we remain committed to building resilience where needed most.

Meet Mr. Christopher Taitt, one of the dedicated small contractors making a huge difference in Mt. Hope through the Housing and Village Improvement Programme (HVIP), led by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and implemented by the Land Settlement Agency (LSA).

Mr. Taitt is part of a growing network of local professionals transforming communities one starter home at a time. For him, this initiative is not just about building houses it’s about empowering people, creating jobs, and offering a real chance at progress.

“It helps me earn my bread, learn to manage a budget, and make sure everyone is comfortable,” he says.

Thanks to committed contractors like Taitt, families are gaining more than just walls and roofs they are gaining security, dignity, and hope.

Let’s celebrate these unsung heroes who are helping to build a better Trinidad and Tobago — one home, one village, one future at a time.

On April 17, 2025, 70 families across 9 HDC communities officially became HOMEOWNERS!

Thanks to the Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, these residents now hold the keys—and the Deeds and other regularisation documents such as Licenses to Occupy (LTOs)

The Honourable Adrian Leonce brought the energy and reminded us all:
From paper to pride, from housing to home—this is how we build stronger communities.

This is only the beginning.
More families, more milestones, more memories to come.
