As we continue to move the Princes Town Regional Corporation forward, I received the keys to new Backhoe yesterday and today, a new Wheel Tractor. These will significantly enhance our ability to serve the burgesses within the region of Princes Town.

A special thanks to Minister of Rural Development and Local Government, Ms. Khadijah Ameen, and the Corporation's administrative team for lending their support to me and my council to ensure that we deliver results within a timely manner.

This morning, I visited Mr. Khemchan Bhola, who praised the work done by the Princes Town Regional Corporation. He came to me with a complaint that the road water from Old Torrib was entering his property and causing damage to his home. As his Councillor, I am pleased to say that I was able to rectify this problem as I continue to improve the infrastructure works in New Grant/Tableland.

Promise made, promise kept. Member of Parliament for Princes Town, Dr. Aiyna Ali, and I recently held a cottage meeting with the residents of Red Road where I expressed my gratitude for their ongoing support and reaffirmed my commitment to continue assisting them.

During this meeting, I promised that I will continue to do drainage work as in the future I will seek to have the road paved. I am pleased to inform you that, as of today, 850 feet of box drain has been completed, and I will continue as funds become available.

Approximately one month ago, Member of Parliament for Princes Town, Dr. Aiyna Ali, and I visited the villagers of School Trace and surrounding areas to listen to their concerns and discuss ways to assist them. Their main issue was the water course from School Trace connecting to Sancho Road.

Today, 75% of the water course has been cleared, and the remaining work is expected to be finished in the coming days. I met with the villagers this morning, and they shared their gratitude for the progress made.

A new phase of road paving has been completed on Nuckcheddy Road. During my walk through the area today, I met with several villagers, all of whom expressed their satisfaction with the quality of work carried out by the contractor. They also praised the efforts of the Princes Town Regional Corporation.

I am committed to working closely with the villagers to ensure that the remaining sections are paved as quickly as possible. I also received full support for this project from the Member of Parliament for Princes Town, Dr. Aiyna Ali.

Another successful project was completed in the electoral district of New Grant/Tableland.

The villagers of Robinson Trace had been complaining about flooding caused by a 2-foot-wide culvert crossing. During floods, the water would rise up to 3 feet, covering the road. Before the general election, the MP of Princes Town, Dr. Aiyna Ali, and I personally walked through the area and promised the villagers that addressing this issue would be a priority. I'm pleased to report that the project has been completed, and the villagers are very satisfied with the work done to protect them from future flooding.

I am pleased to highlight the recent upgrades to the jogging track at Sancho Branch Road recreation ground. Additionally, the fencing work and the installation of the box drain have been completed to effectively prevent water from gushing onto the playfield. This recreation ground is not only used by residents of Sancho, St. Julien, and surrounding areas but also sees heavy use by members of the public from across the region.

I would like to commend Mr. Walter Ali the WSIII for his excellent supervision of this project and to acknowledge the contractor for the outstanding ex*****on of the works.

This project was also endorsed by the Member of Parliament for Princes Town, Dr. Aiyna Ali.

Several villagers from Sisters Road, Thomas Ross Piparo, Bhagwantee, and the surrounding areas, many of whom are part of the heavily populated Muslim community, reached out to me regarding the condition of the road leading to the Sisters Road Cemetery. Since Muslims only bury their deceased, access to the cemetery is of utmost importance.

Today, I am pleased to say that I have successfully assisted in getting the road repaired, ensuring that the community can now access the cemetery easily if they choose to bury their loved ones.

On this special occcasion I would like to wish the Muslim community, as well as the entire country a Eid Mubarak! ☪
