Emancipation reminds us not only of our history, but also of our shared responsibility to uphold the values of dignity, justice, unity and respect for all people. As we celebrate the rich contributions of African descendants to Trinidad and Tobago, may we continue to build communities that reflect the strength, resilience and hope of those who came before us.
