Partnering to Build Resilience Against Disaster Risks
Under the banner of “Building Resilience – Safeguarding Communities, Coastlines, Commerce”, the Ministry of Works & Infrastructure (Coastal Protection Unit and Drainage Division), the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago and NIDCO are collaborating to stage an exhibition at the 2nd Disaster Risk Management (TTDRM) Conference and Expo at the Hyatt Regency, June 1 – 3, 2026.
The TTDRM Conference brings together government, industry, and community leaders to discuss climate action, disaster preparedness, and resilience-building across the Caribbean.
From flood mitigation and coastal protection to transportation and emergency response, the Ministry of Works and its partnering agencies work together to safeguard Trinidad and Tobago before, during and after disasters.
• Along our coastlines, protective infrastructure helps safeguard vulnerable areas from erosion, storm surge and the impacts of climate change.
• When emergencies arise, maritime transportation becomes a vital lifeline. The Water Taxi Service, inter-island vessels and port facilities support the movement of people, equipment and relief supplies when they are needed most.
NIDCO stands ready to facilitate national preparedness, response efforts and help accelerate recovery.
