What is Alzheimer’s Disease? It’s a progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory, thinking skills, and the ability to carry out simple daily tasks. It is the most common cause of dementia, accounting for 60% to 80% of all cases.

As we get ready to observe World Alzheimer’s Day, let’s remember that changes in memory or thinking deserve attention.

When in doubt, getting it checked can provide answers, guidance and support.

Let’s keep the conversation going. Every conversation brings us closer to a more informed, compassionate and supportive community.

What is Dementia? It’s a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer’s Disease is one form of dementia.

Building Stronger Leaders, Creating Healthier Teams 💚

On Tuesday 8th September 2026, the Workforce Wellness Unit (WWU) held its second “Creating Healthy Teams Through Effective Leadership” Workshop at the Belle Garden Multipurpose Facility.

This cohort brought together Foremen and Forewomen from the Windward District of the Public Health Services Department and Litter Eradication Programme (LEP) for another interactive morning of learning, reflection and practical leadership development.

The session reinforced the importance of effective leadership, communication and conflict management in fostering respectful workplace relationships, supporting employee well-being and building stronger, healthier teams.

Supporting Staff. Strengthening the Division. 💚
