🏆 A MILESTONE YEAR FOR TuSRAP: CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE AND HEART
Better late than never! Please accept our most sincere apologies for the delay in sharing these updates. The end of 2025 was a marathon of project goals, and while we are already into 2026, we must pause to honour the incredible achievements that defined our past year.

🥇 TNPF OUTSTANDING EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR
We are deeply honoured to have received the Outstanding Employer Award (Private Enterprise Category) from the Tuvalu National Provident Fund (TNPF).

This recognition is personal to us. It stems from our commitment to our staff’s future—ensuring every TNPF contribution was made on time or ahead of the deadline. By staying ahead of the clock and avoiding all penalties, we’ve prioritised the long-term security of our team. To us, being a "Great Employer" starts with how we care for our own.

📑 A CLEAN AUDIT: THE GOLDEN STANDARD
We are also proud to announce that the 2025 Audit Report returned an Unqualified Opinion. This is the highest "clean bill of health" a project can receive, proving to our supporters and the public that TuSRAP operates with absolute transparency and fiscal responsibility.

Our Sincere Thanks: These milestones were made possible by the diligent work of our Deputy Project Manager and Finance Managing Officer, Enalizer Fuiono Kaufakatasi, our Administrative Assistant, Vaisava Enele, and our dedicated Interns. Their meticulous efforts in keeping our finances manageable and precise were the engine behind these successes, ensuring we met every standard of excellence.

🕊️ HONOURING OUR LEGACY
This culture of diligence is a flame first lit by those who paved the way. As we celebrate the precision of our current team, we reminisce with deep fondness on our former staff and especially our late Project Manager, Mr. Vitoli Faaoga Iosefa. It was his early vision and steady leadership that established the high standards we uphold today. We hope these honours serve as a fitting tribute to his memory and the groundwork he so lovingly laid.

🤝 TRHE STRENGTH OF PARTNERSHIP
Our success is built on collaboration across many sectors. We extend our deepest gratitude to:

- MTECI (Our Implementing Agency): Secretary Simalua Enele Taliu and Deputy Secretary Loloma Homasi for their vital guidance;

- The Ministry of Finance: For their essential partnership and fiscal oversight;

- The World Bank & CPMO: For the technical and institutional support that keeps us moving forward;

- Director of Civil Aviation, Mr. Uinga Paelate: Our "office member" and friend. Having Uinga housed within our office has created a synergy that truly supports our daily work;

- To everyone else who played a part—including our dedicated local and international consultants (including our Programme Manager, Mr. Charles Nepia) and those not named here—your contribution is seen and deeply valued;

🚀 CONTINUING THE JOURNEY TOGETHER
As we look ahead, we are excited to continue this journey as a united team. We welcome the fresh perspectives of our newest team members, including our Environmental and Social Safeguard, Ms. Liliele Lili Nafatali, as we work under the leadership of our new Project Manager, Mr. Tomu Paneta Hauma. By combining the energy of our new arrivals with the deep experience of our current staff and consultants, and continuing our close partnership with our Ministries and the World Bank, we are committed to upholding the high standards of excellence that Tuvalu deserves.

Fakafetai lahi for being part of our journey! 🇹🇻🌱

🎉 TRIPLE CELEBRATIONS: INTERN GRADUATION, PO FAREWELL, AND CHRISTMAS CHEER! 🇹🇻
What a spectacular way to conclude the week! Friday, 12 December 2025 at 5:00 PM, wasn't just another day for the Tuvalu Safe and Resilient Aviation Project (TuSRAP); it was a powerful celebration of achievement, transition, and togetherness.

🌟 RISING STARS: OUR LOT 3 INTERNS TRIUMPH!
The air was buzzing with pride also on that same Friday as we concluded the Lot 3 Internship Program! Six exceptional young professionals were celebrated for conquering two demanding online courses: Contract Management and Public Procurement. These aren't just certificates—they represent a significant boost in skills crucial for Tuvalu's future development.

A massive, well-deserved congratulations to:
- Ianeta Heather Motee
- Kanoe Cabanlet
- Lomi Tinilau
- Moanalisa Bali
- Temalai Paelate
- Ukilei Iveni

TuSRAP Director Uinga Paelate had the honour of personally presenting their certificates, commending their dedication since the males started in August and the females in September. Through a successful extension, they all finished strong on this single, memorable Friday!

✈️ A CAREER TAKES FLIGHT: CELEBRATING APINELU
We also gave a special shout-out to Apinelu Tinilau, who completed his two courses early on 14 November 2025. WHY THE EARLY FINISH? Because a fantastic opportunity couldn't wait! Apinelu has already jetted off to Australia to take up a position at one of the cutting meats stations, joining the growing number of Tuvaluans working abroad. His early completion and certificate presentation by Director Paelate are proof that the skills gained at TuSRAP are immediately opening doors to exciting global careers. We wish Apinelu all the very best— just like your 6 interns colleagues, you have also made us proud!

👋 MALO MALIFAGA: A FAREWELL TO OUR PO!
The event also continued with a heartfelt farewell to our stellar Procurement Officer (PO), Malifaga Niukena! Malifaga successfully concluded her contract with the project on 10 December 2025. Since first joining us on 20 November 2023, and serving through 20 May 2025, and again from 10 June 2025, until 10 December 2025, Malifaga has been an indispensable pillar of the project's success. Her professionalism, dedication, and expertise have left an enduring legacy within the PMU. We thank Malifaga immensely for her exceptional service and wish her every success in her next chapter!

🎁 SPREADING THE CHEER: OUR CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION!
To cap off an incredible day, the graduation seamlessly transitioned into the annual TuSRAP Christmas Party! It was a wonderful moment of relaxation and festive joy where everyone—the graduating interns, the dedicated PMU staff members, and Director Uinga—came together to exchange gifts and share in the holiday spirit. Laughter, good cheer, dances, and brightly wrapped presents filled the room, reinforcing the strong, family-like bond that makes the TuSRAP team so special.

What a day! Congratulations once again to our phenomenal interns and thank you, Malifaga! The future of Tuvalu is looking brighter thanks to the dedication of people like you.

🚧AIRPORT STAFF AWARENESS WORKSHOP: HOLD BAGGAGE AREA CONSTRUCTION 🚧

On Friday, November 14th, the project held an awareness session for Funafuti Airport staff about an upcoming construction at the terminal: the Hold Baggage Area . This upgrade will improve baggage handling efficiency as part of our broader project to enhance airport operations.

Why It Matters: The construction may affect terminal operations, so it’s crucial to plan ahead to minimise disruptions. The session is part of the project's ongoing Stakeholder Engagement and Awareness, aiming to ensure smooth development with minimal impact on staff and passengers.

TuSRAP would like to thank everyone who participated!
