The Hsinchu City Government has announced the cancellation of work and classes starting from 12:00 PM today (June 26) for the Hsinchu City area due to torrential rain.

🚨 【重要公告：新竹市今天下午12:00起停止上班、停止上課】 🚨

各位市民朋友大家好：

因應今日上午強降雨，新竹市東區6小時累積雨量已超過170毫米，時雨量更突破45毫米，雨勢已超出城市時雨量負荷，導致市內多處道路、住宅陸續傳出災情。

考量新竹地區為共同生活圈，新竹縣轄區此次降雨強度更高、災情也較為嚴峻。市府綜合評估整體交通、通勤及市民安全需求，今天下午12:00起，新竹市停止上班、停止上課。期盼藉此降低強降雨期間的外出風險，讓市民朋友安心。

目前市府持續針對市民通報案件逐案追蹤，相關單位也全力投入積水排除與環境巡查，希望儘快恢復道路通行。請大家下班下課路段務必提高警覺、減速慢行！

⚠️ 市民安全與防汛須知 ⚠️
行車減速慢行：出門請特別留意路況，行經低窪積水區域請繞道行駛。
配合地下道管制：行經地下道或低窪路段，若遇積水、柵欄放下，請務必配合管制，切勿強行通過！
沙包與擋板借用：低窪地區住戶如有需求，可立即至東區、北區、香山區公所領取沙包或借用防水擋板。

[External Event] 2026 IEIE for Youth

2026 International Environmental Issues and Education Workshop, co-organized by the Ministry of Environment and GEEP APRC.

Theme "The Perfect Blend", it explores Taiwan's journey in creating a circular value chain for the coffee industry. Discover how the Ministry of Environment utilizes convenience store logistics to recover 111,000 tons of coffee grounds annually to reach net-zero goals.
This workshop offers an immersive look into social entrepreneurship at Come True Coffee, Taiwan’s first B Corp coffee brand, which funds clean water projects in Africa. Participants will witness high-value upcycling technology that transforms coffee waste into high-economic products. As a collaborative hub, participants will brainstorm with Asia-Pacific peers to develop food waste solutions and environmental communication strategies.
