高雄市政府警察局

高雄市政府警察局 警察用心／民眾安心

民國34年11月8日臺灣光復後劃設成立高雄市警察局，掌管全市的治安工作，民國35年2月14日分設第一、第二分局、水上分局及消防隊；民國47年增設2個分局，晉升為乙種編制警察局，水上分局改制分立為港務警察所；民國59年7月1日再晉升為全台唯一的甲種編制警察局，下轄7個分局及刑警、保安、消防等隊；設於高雄市前金區中正四路260號。
民國68年7月1日隨著高雄市升格直轄市，而定名為「高雄市政府警察局」；民國85年3月9日消防大隊改制分出，後增至10個分局、3個大隊、4個隊。
民國99年12月25日縣市合併，將原高雄縣政府轄區7個分局、3個大隊、2個隊合併，計有17個分局、3個大隊、4個隊。
