MOFA launches the .0: Where We Connect International Short Film Competition!
🎬Tell your Taiwan story through your lens!
Last year, we invited creative filmmakers from around the world to take part in to help people around the world discover more about Taiwan. This year, we want you to give us a more diverse perspective to showcase Taiwan's links with the international community.
You can take creative inspiration from anything, whether it's democracy, culture, technology, innovation, or people-to-people links. We invite you to tell a story about Taiwan's links to the wider world to help more friends in countries around the world better understand the different aspects of this treasure island.
✨This year, we're also giving out the Taiwan Panorama Special Award for those who use the Taiwan Panorama archive as inspiration for their film.
📅Submission window: July 1-August 31, 2026
🏆Total prize pool: NT$800,000

【第十屆「 #凱達格蘭論壇」精彩回顧！】

😀Let's look back together on the highlights of the 10th Ketagalan Forum!
The forum, which drew to a successful close on August 4, opened with an address from President Lai Ching-te 賴清德, 🤵‍♂️
in which he stated that Taiwan will safeguard the values of freedom and democracy and will not accept united front infiltration, and called on the international community to come together and staunchly oppose the expansion of CCP authoritarianism. He was also presented with a statement from the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China by Japan Co-Chair Nakatani Gen 🇯🇵condemning the PRC ethnic unity law.

💁🏻‍♀️Vice President 蕭美琴 Bi-khim Hsiao stated that the PRC ethnic unity law seeks to export censorship and provide a legal pretext for transnational repression, calling it a direct challenge to universal values and the international legal order. She called on democratic partners to align closely and build a united defense against expansionism and transnational repression.💪

MOFA Minister Lin Chia-lung 林佳龍 remarked that this year marks the 10th edition of the forum and the 30th anniversary of direct presidential election in Taiwan, adding that along the way, Taiwan has deepened its resilience and democracy. He stated that MOFA has advanced values-based diplomacy and an integrated diplomatic approach, working closely with partners to advance regional collective defense in the Indo-Pacific and to counter hybrid warfare, including grey zone intrusions, cognitive warfare, and the ambitions of transnational repression embodied in the ethnic unity law.🌏

🇸🇿 Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini emphasized the lasting friendship between our countries in his keynote speech, while 🇺🇸Chair Emeritus of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael McCaul, stated that the Taiwan Relations Act remains alive and well in promoting a free and democratic Taiwan. Former deputy prime minister of 🇨🇦 Chrystia Freeland suggested that the world's democracies should not mince their words when stating their opposition to the PRC's ethnic unity law. Former prime minister of 🇫🇮 Sanna Marin shared her admiration for Taiwan and its people for their courage in defending our shared values.🤝

「凱達格蘭論壇」目前已成為台灣與國際民主夥伴對話及互動的重要平台，共同促進區域民主、和平與繁榮。

The will kick off in just 3 days!🎉

The forum is an important platform for dialogue and exchange between Taiwan and international partners, helping to advance regional peace, democracy and prosperity.

MOFA has teamed up with the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research to plan some great events as part of the 10th ediotion of the forum, including the following keynote speakers, who are long-standing friends to Taiwan:

🇸🇿 Eswatini Prime Minister Russell Dlamini

🇺🇸 US House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Emeritus Michael McCaul

Former Finnish prime minister Sanna Marin and former Canadian prime minister Chrystia Freeland are also embarking on their first visits to Taiwan to give speeches at the forum and engage with the range of politicians and experts present.
