Sometimes I believe some Asian people never evolved. Some are still a few hundred years in the past! Still spit all over in the street, have no sense of people around them - just stop dead in the middle of the road to look at something. Walk without giving way to other people, will walk right through you without blinking an eye! Just push you out of the way! Sometimes I believe they are the rudest people on earth! Of course they think they are the best - I wonder...

How one little bow, smile and a "Hi" can change your entire day! Only the third person to say hello to me on the streets of Taipei! I'm sure she is not Taiwanese! Taiwanese people don't do that...

I learn every day about amazing cultural differences here in Taiwan. Sometime just unbelievable ! Then you listen, shake your head in disbelief and proceed.

Not a good week. Had a bad fall in a bus because the bus driver had to stop urgently. I went flying and hurt my left side and shoulder. Bus drivers are quite aggressive here and compete with the taxis and the thousands of scooters. The two dentists tried to get roots of a tooth out. The battled for two hours and 30 minutes. I tried to keep my jaws in place. They were actually very good but the roots nearly got the better of them. So today I feel like a train went over me. My whole body is sore. Then fortunately I step in just one landmine. When will the people start to pick up their dog's poo?

I'm so glad it's cooler now. It was a long and very hot summer!! My landlord will be so happy. My ac is quiet and my window open to let the beautiful cool air in. I start to like winter more and more!!

I'm back from my short holiday in New Zealand. I must be honest, I left my heart in New Zealand and especially Lake Taupo!! I miss the clean,clear sky, the open spaces and the small amount of people around me.
