華山屬山區型農村社區，遺留早期農村社會的聚落史跡，又有豐富多樣的生態與產業歷史，加上文學步道、土石流教學園區及華山教育農園的建設，咖啡產業與觀光業的發展，整體場域各項設施完整，擁有發展成為社區型環境學習中心的潛力。今年度延續前二年環保小學堂的基礎，除持續推動社區環境改造總體營造外，教授土地倫理的觀念及操作環境教育課程，並辦理產業生態工作假期，推展志願服務，讓遊客或學員深度認識農村生活的點滴。
